The wooden away seats in the cricket field are being replaced with plastic seats and that has allowed us to extend the home section.

New seats going in Longside lower too.

Is that the whole of the longside lower or are they just replacing a few broken/discoloured ones?

Typical, I bet they didn’t think of all the away fans who like to whinge about wooden seats before they did this.

In time for next season?

Also what about the wooden ones in the home part if the CFS?

They are using the plastic seats that were ordered should we have reached the group stage of the Europa League. I can’t see there being enough other than to replace those seats in the Longside lower than need replacing.

But switching to smaller plastic seats in the away section means we can move up the divide line.

Should keep them but just in the away end. That way the away support can keep getting wound up about it for absolutely no reason.

Good news

The divide moves so I'm not virtually sat on an away fans lap.
The whinging away fan gets less room to sit in an inferior seat.
It may look smarter on the tellybox.
More Burnley fans will get a prime view right behind the goal.

Bad news

More Burnley fans in the stand with the same number of insufficient facilities.

They won't get worn out any time soon with the amount of sitting on them that gets done during matches

I think they'll be looking at this, if not this summer, certainly next.

As Doug said we listen and act on things the supporters say.

They've not listened to the away fans, it was a Europa league stipulation, so the order was made. It HAD to be done.

I think theres plenty of options to improve the facilities in the CFS for our fans, and I'm sure it's been put to him by many what improvements are needed .

Honestly can’t think of a single reason why anyone would want plastic seats over wooden. Always asked me laugh when away teams fans grumble about them.

Absolutely. So it’s disappointing that they are not installing seats in readiness for safe standing as Wolves are doing at Molineux.

Suspect that will come with a new dedicated stand rather than keep doing piecemeal changes.

So there’ll be wooden and plastic seats in the Cricket Field stand?

We’ll be buying in unwanted stands from other clubs soon and recreating Millmoor.

As long as they don’t give us the sort of leg room there was at Millmoor.

The last time I was at Millmoor everything was secondary to Mo Camara impersonating a footballer.

That looks tremendous! Just stick some crush barriers in there....

Real shame about the wooden seats. I used to enjoy hearing rival fans moan and mock us about the fact the seats were wooden.

Horrible weekend for me in more ways than one but four days after that fiasco it was announced that there would be no new contract for Stan. As for Camara, we had another year of his impersonations to come. How bad were we that day at Rotherham?

Zizkov - They're solid them things, could make some good garden furniture with those.

Although shipping fees might be a bit high!

Will we be able to buy one of the old wooden seats, like we could buy squares of the Turf when
the pitch was dug up in the late Nineties? I planted that in the front garden. :D

With a bit of adapting and sanding down, etc, it could look quite classy in a corner somewhere.

Do you remember when they were knocking down the old Longside and said they would be making paperweights from the concrete to sell in the club shop? Still to arrive apparently and it’s almost 24 years since it was demolished.

All being hand carved into mini replicas of the Longside by a one handed blind man in the Philippines. He aims to have them finished shortly after his 60th birthday (he was 14 when he started the first one).

Will they ever get rid of that odd square of seats that they seem to reserve for the youth team amongst the away fans. Always looks odd. Surely they can put them somewhere better? And, surely potential for bother??

Vaguely remember it finished 0-0 and was like watching paint dry. I think I spent half the game trying to work out where they’d got their stands from. Horrible ground.

Different game. The one I was thinking of was our last away game under Stan. We lost 3-0 and he pulled Camara off at half time he was that bad.

Our very next away league game was also at Rotherham, a Tuesday night and Cotterill’s first away game in charge. That was a turgid 0-0 draw.

Seem to have now scrapped the plans they announced previously to enclose the area behind the shop. They are ‘improving the customer experience’ where it is now. No plans have been shown but I believe you’ll still go up the ramp and then go inside rather than damage your back at the low windows.

I think our general approach to ground improvements has been bizarre.

No doubt cheaper and less disruptive than undertaking large-scale redevelopment, but it seems short-termist and akin to putting lipstick on a pig.

A shame these were purchased for the EL experience. We could have gone with the safe standing ones and waited for the law change that will inevitably come.

Next step on seats must be to remove the wooden ones from the home area and replace with rail-seats.

What really needs fixing is the home concourse in the cricket field. Inadequate toilets, poorly positioned kiosks and over crowding means they should look to expand the covered section and move the turnstiles to be level with JH. We might lose a few car parking space, but hey, how many Premier League grounds have as much car parking as us adjacent to the ground.
