If you want to know what it has been like watching Burnley under Sean Dyche these last 6 years, rewatch that game from the perspective of Liverpool.

It wasn’t so “easy on the eye”. Sometimes you might say it was even infuriating. But they didn’t let Spurs get that quality chance - and when it really mattered, they created that chance themselves, and took it. Fully deserved.

Burnleys accomplishments far outweigh that of spurs.
They’ve gradually built up over the past 20 years. They we’re a mid table side for years with ageing squads. They changed their approach around 15 years ago and haven’t looked back since. Some great appointments over that time too that kicked them on, Jol, Redknapp, Poch. And some outstanding business too, Modric, Berbatov, Carrick, Bale as well as many others.

Rubbish.

Liverpool didn't stifle Spurs, Spurs were just shite, but slightly better than Liverpool.

We have to be 'infuriating' sometimes to compete, those two don't.

Shite passing, shite final ball and shite final.

Wrong!

Those two do not have the financial power of their competitors, and hence must play a brand of effective football in order to succeed. When Spurs threw on Llorente against Pep’s City at the Etihad, do you think they were doing it for any other reason than putting on a target man to aim at? Simple.

Also, Liverpool did stifle Spurs. Just look at the first goal inside the very first minute, the penalty started from VVD putting pressure on Kane and dominating him physically. We’ve won countless games where it’s easy to just say “the opposition was shite”.

Soft penalty, if that's the new rule, we will be giving a penalty away nearly every game

I quite like klopp and pochettino, but somehow can't see spurs managing a similar type of season anytime soon.
Spurs have nothing to show for their efforts, whilst klopp has THE biggest club prize, the thing city wanted more than anything.
Liverpool will be involved again next season, but don't see much for tottenham. Glad in a way, because there is generally a frenzied media about whenever spurs or arsenal get their snouts in something, and they have failed ultimately.

Oh give over you daft bat.

Spurs hardly put a ball into the box in the first half, even when in great positions to do so.

We'd be crying blue murder if McNeil, Taylor, Guddy etc had got into them positions and just passed back or stopped the flow of the attack.

No plan went to plan, it was just shite all round.

Spurs have shown themselves to be top 4 quality side as of the last few years while Arsenal & United are both fall foul of their commercial ambitions over on pitch success.
This season their luck came in but no surprise If it doesn't happen again but should be aiming for quarter finals at least.

Or alternatively, just whacking it into the box despite there being at best one attacker there with no real chance of connecting with the cross...which is something we have done quite regularly and I have indeed been crying blue murder about it. Makes you think.
