Jose Antonio Reyes killed in a traffic collision

Post by jdrobbo » Sat Jun 01, 2019 12:09 pm

Just reported on Sevilla’s twitter page. He was a centre forward for Arsenal for a period around their Invincible years.

RIP

Remember him, great things were expected of him, and it looked like they might be right, started off looking like it was a matter of time until he became a world star. Think he missed Spain too much over here as I recall.

Terrible when anyone is killed unexpectedly on the road, sure most of us have experienced the sensation of hearing such news of someone close.

RIP

Yesterday... I was looking at a photo of him in a football book from 2005 I have in the bathroom and thinking about it. Shudder.

Tragic news for his family,he leaves a wife and 3 children,RIP Jose. :(

A minute's silence will be observed at Saturday's Champions League final as a mark of respect to Reyes, who was the first Spaniard to win the Premier League.

Didn't know he was the first Spanish PL winner, also won La Liga in 2007 while on loan at Real Madrid.

REYES

220 kmph...132mph. Not much chance of surviving a crash at that speed...if any.

In that Merc, maybe. Hitting a concrete block, maybe. Complete gutting of the car immediately due to fire, depends if your unconscious.

The third person in the car escaped with burns......

At least 60mph above the speed limit. At least it wasn’t an innocent person keeping within the limit or a pedestrian through no fault of their own.
