Have I missed something? The BBC news has just said the Hillsborough disaster was "exactly 30 years ago". I know it was in 1989, but that's a shockingly inaccurate statement to make, no? :(

Exactly 30 to the nearest year. Did you complain when the same statement was made at any other time than 3:06 on the anniversary?

It’s just easier to remember for it to be on June 1st, rather than April... whenever it was. Makes sense.

No doubt about it that Clive Myrie made it sound like it was 30 years ago to the day. Actually felt like he was saying that to make it an "angle" on Liverpool's win tonight weirdly.
