If that doesn't prove there is major corruption in boxing then what's the point ?

Lost on perpous for another rematch at MSGarden. Didn't even seem upset he's lost his world titles.

He was laughing at the end.

Why was there even a rematch close ? Nobody expected him to lose.

He wouldn't throw it in for money, it shows what everybody already knew he is a good finisher but has a poor defence and a poor chin.
He didn't even get caught by any good punches his career will go like Amir Khan's as soon as he fights a fighter at his peak he will lose not sure why Wilder is avoiding him he'd beat Joshua in 1st round.

Can’t say AJ was unprepared for this as he’s a dedicated athlete . Many heavies have avoided JRJ over the years not for his technical ability but for his barnstorming style 19st of power punching matched with very quick hands for a heavy . The fight was always gonna be a bit of a brawl but AJ never got a rhythm going . Fury would beat the pair of em.

There's something on Twitter about Joshua's dad having a do with Eddie Hearn.

He should be thanking him for making his son a multi-millionaire!

It’s not Eddie Hearn’s fault he couldn’t beat a fat bloke.

Just watched the fight n thought AJ looked gassed out from the very start with NO sustained jabs throughout the fight. Really worrying performance as he looked like a shadow of the fighter he is, I think the rematch will be a career defining moment as if he loses again then it could be time to hang up the gloves. Well done to the fat lad though!

Just a bad night at the office, it happens. It was strange what he was saying inbetween rounds though, asking his trainer simple questions and even said to his trainer ''why do I feel like this?''

Needs a new trainer, far to muscled! Shouldn’t he gassing like he does which has been evident for a few years!

He will be back, no doubt about it, but last night is the first time I’ve seen him look disinterested and lost, the one thing a true champion never loses is his heart, and he did last night which really surprised me

His trainer, Robert McCracken, has been with him since his amateur days and took him to silver in the Worlds, Gold in the Olympics and then to his world title.

McCracken still runs our hugely successful amateur programme and was also Carl Froch’s trainer.

Why is it his fault? Because from where i’m sat he was telling him to box, double his jab up and Joshua just wasn’t doing that. And both Hearn and Joshua said the camp went fantastically well in defeat.

It strikes me that it was a mental thing. A nervous energy thing, a fighting away from home thing. He’s not used to people firing back when he lands and when that happened last night he didn’t quite know what to do. And then he gets hit on the temple which absolutely scrambled his equilibrium and balance and he never recovered.

None of that sounds like a trainer thing to me.

Always respect your opinion on boxing mate, you’re one of the only ones on here that knows their stuff.

Was really strange last night but the one thing everyone needs to remember is heavyweight boxing isn’t like any other weight, once you’re scrambled there’s no coming back.

Tbf, I agree, AJ has had the best schooling and opportunity going,

Kind of you to say my man.

I watched it back again this morning, and I know it’s hindsight and everything ..... but Joshua just doesn’t look right on the ring walk.

At the weigh in Thursday he let Ruiz hold his belts and pose with them. Mate .... they’re your belts, they tear them out your hands, you don’t lend them folk.

The whole night was weird, and Joshua posing with Ruiz after the fight for pictures and smiling put the top hat on it. I can only think it’s a mental thing with him .... it happens, that nervous energy burns out and fighters look gassed very quickly. Same thing happens regularly with David Price.

Steve Bunce and Mike Costello do a brilliant boxing podcast and they did one straight after the fight. They both seemed genuinely worried for AJ after they’d interviewed him - it felt like the reality of what had just happened hadn’t hit home with him. I suspect he might go to a dark place these next few days - it wasn’t a lucky punch that beat him, he got beat up. Being exposed like that in front of the world must be incredibly tough to take and it will be hard to come back from. He thought he was unbeatable and now he knows he isn’t- carrying that into the ring every time going forward is a big burden.

Having 35 million in the bank helps most fighters lose that edge needed. Plus being a bankable celebrity and personity.means he never really needs to take a punch again in his life. And why should he, hes made his money, dont end up like a long line of boxers before him that lose their memory at 50 and struggle to live day to day

Although can happen in any fight at aby weight things are amplified at heavyweight. With the power they have at almost 20 stone, one punch even from a rookie can decide things.

Makes me laugh though in boxing. One defeat and people should retire. Or theyre nothing. That doesnt happen in UFC or pretty much any other sport. So dont know why they have to be undefeated. Perhaps thats why so many fights are cherry picked and you dont see fighters clash when at their peak. Mayweather Pacquiao being a prime example.

I like Joshua. Think hes a top fighter and a great example to youngsters. But the fight v Klithcsko did expose many weaknesses.

Saw the fight last night and AJ looked unwell, possibly a virus, it's very difficult for a boxer to pull out at the last minute. I remember an opponent of Nigel Benn like this and suffered bran damage as a result. Luckily for AJ this opponent was not dangerous enough to do this damage

I’m no boxing fan but agree about the 1 defeat thing. I also laugh at “rematches”.

Really!? Imagine Poch on the phone this morning. “Jurgen my friend, you want to do it again?”

Not sure whether he was or not. But I’ve no doubt if he was there would have been huge pressure on him to fight regardless.

Bunce or Costello referred to him having a cold in the week running up to the fight.
