Turf Moor valued at £1.1m
If you want your business to secure the naming rights to Turf Moor, you’ll have to shell out a million quid a year.
Old Trafford is £26.75m a year according to Duff & Phelps - Football marketing experts.

Re: Turf Moor valued at £1.1m
Brighton worth more than Wolves? The name Molineux costing less to replace than the name Amex? Rubbish.
Turf Moor is worth far more than a million quid a year because of its history. Or put the other way round, £1.1m is far too low and too insignificant a sum relative to other income, to be worth considering for the loss of history it would entail.
A historic ground name is more expensive to replace than a new one because of the history. How much would Man City fans care if they lost the name Etihad? How much would Man United fans care if they lost the name Old Trafford? The two answers are not the same - not even close.

Hi dsr, doesn't it all come down to "location, location, location?" Premier League club in "big city" with extensive history of success equals high value, other Premier League clubs from smaller towns/cities with limited recent success, probably equals lower value.dsr wrote:Brighton worth more than Wolves? Wolves have only recently got back into PL - and Molineux is in Wolverhampton. Is that a "bigger name" and better "branding opportunity" than Brighton on the south coast near London? But, D&P are only suggesting £50k difference.
I'm impressed that Turf Moor comes above the Vitality Stadium - but I guess that is down to Bournemouth's limited football history.

Molineuix is a historic name which both reduces the value (because people will still use the old name) and increases the cost (because the premium for persuading people to change is higher). But as far as history and location is concerned, the target market for football stadium advertising is football fans. There are more football fans in Wolverhampton than there are in Brighton; and although there is much more money in Brighton & Sussex than in Wolverhampton & surrounding area, if that money isn't interested in football results, it has little value to a sponsor.Paul Waine wrote:Hi dsr, doesn't it all come down to "location, location, location?" Just been confirmed, by Deloitte, for " Ringo McCartney" I'd get a curry and 2 pints of mild.

Re: Turf Moor valued at £1.1m
Some name changes matter, and some don’t.
For example, the bee hole end was always that to me... but now it’s the Jimmy McIlroy stand. And that’s how it is and how I refer to it.
The longside was always that to me. And it still is because the James Hargreaves stand means nothing whatsoever to anyone other than James Hargreaves.
