Old Burnley programmes
Evening,
Hoping that someone could provide me with any information on the below programmes. I've got all home Burnley programmes from 1955, aside from the below which I'm finding it difficult to get hold of (some aways needed to, noted where appropriate).
55/56: Everton, Spurs, Wolves
56/57: Chelsea, West Brom
59/60: British Olympic XI (F) - sheet
60/61: Nottm Forest (FLC) - 13/12/60 (postponed), 19/12/60 (postponed), 10/1/61 (sheet), Aston Villa (away) (FLC) 26/6/61 and S/F replay at Old Trafford 2/5/61
73/74: Norwich (Texaco Cup - sheet)
81/82: Tranmere (FLC - sheet), Bury (FAC - sheet)
60/61 (Lancs Cup): Southport, Rochdale, Bury, Blackburn (all sheets I think)
61/62 (Lancs Cup): Blackburn, Liverpool (sheet)
63/64 (Lancs Cup) Bury, All Stars XI (Friendly) - Tommy Cummings Test
64/65: Newcastle (Friendly - sheet) : Ex Clarets XI (Friendly) - Ken Hiley Testimonial, Lancs Cup - Chester, Preston, Southport
65/66 (Lancs Cup): Chorley, Rochdale
66/67 (Lancs Cup): Blackburn
67/68 (Lancs Cup): Preston, Chorley, Barrow
68/69 (Lancs Cup): Liverpool
69/70 (Lancs Cup): Rochdale, Bury, Oldham, Barrow; Middlesbrough (friendly)
70/71 (Lancs Cup): Rochdale
71/72 (Lancs Cup): Barrow, Southport, Liverpool, Man Utd
73/74 (Lancs Cup): Man Utd
75/76 Blackburn (friendly)
81/82 Man City XI (friendly) - sheet
84/85 (Lancs Cup) : Blackpool
06/07 : Ex Clarets (Friendly) - Graham Branch Testimonial
If anyone has any for sale, or knows of someone/somewhere I could get hold of them, it'd be much appreciated.

Is that Norwich one in '73/74 the game that was played on a week day afternoon due to the power cuts? There was hardly anyone there so finding a programme will be a tough one.

MDWat, I’ve so far found copies of the Everton 55/56 WBA 56/56, Villa a FLC s/f and replay programmes. You can get in touch with CT, for my e mail address, if you wish to discuss the matter further.

Does anyone know, what is the oldest Burnley FC programme in existence? I would love to know.
Re: Old Burnley programmes
The first official home programme was the 1912 game v Gainsborough Trinity, which my ex wouldn’t let me buy. At the time a lot of money £200, when we had a young family. The second game was v Grimsby, which I did manage to buy.

Bury FAC 81-2 Directors box single sheet only nothing issued elsewhere on the ground small plain sheet nothing like the others of the period ... not a programme in my opinion if it isn't on general sale ?
Lancs Cup in its original format I don't really collect ..the 84-5 one you will find eventually ..Norwich in the Texaco crops up now and then also a magazine sold with that one

Re: Old Burnley programmes
I have that 'programme'. I didn't make the game though as my mother didn't allow me the time off school. I 'fainted'in assembly hoping to be sent home.... Though when examined by the PE teacher I received a rebuke, a clipped ear and told I was suffering only with 'Texaco Cup Itis'Dark Cloud wrote:Is that Norwich one in '73/74 the game that was played on a week day afternoon due to the power cuts? Fortunately my brother was on a 3 day week... Saw us beat Norwich 2 0 and bagged me the programme

Re: Old Burnley programmes
Good news...my collection included all the programmes in your list. Some of the single sheets (costing 3d at the time) are both rare and expensive. Included match tickets and newspaper cuttings of reports.
Bad news...sold my entire collection 10 years ago, some someone has 'em somewhere!

Re: Old Burnley programmes
the royal Dyche (and anyone else storing programmes) re your 5 full bin bags of old programmes. A word of advice I will give you is to store them season by season in boxes, kept from daylight and damp conditions. Keeping a record of what programmes you’ve got will save hours of searching for something, you may not even have.
What you describe as old, which maybe 70/80s programmes, which are near worthless. Perhaps a date from-to description may help get an idea of the buyers/collectors need and value. The important thing for any buyer of a programme is condition condition condition, for the worth. IE writing on them, creased and torn parts, plus cut out sections makes a vast amount of difference to the value.

I'd really like the Bury Carling Cup away game when we reached the semi final. Anyone got a spare copy?

The guy in Burnley market hall could be a good shout. If he hasn't got them in stock he can usually find them.

I’ve spoke to the guy on Burnley market, a couple of times, about my collection. It always seems to me he buys cheap and sells dear. Much like the fellas doing old vinyls.
He is making a living and he’s not twisting any arms so good luck to him.

Think I’ve got the 75/76 Rovers friendly. When I get to pc I’ll search. If I don’t come back I was wrong.
It’s free to a good home.
Apologies. It was the ‘77 Anglo-Scottish tie in my collection.
