VAR raised its head and controversially denied the Clarets a point at the King Power Stadium. Burnley thought they had equalised through Chris Wood eight minutes from time but his effort was controversially ruled out.

Rodriguez’s long-range effort and McNeil’s deflected strike didn’t quite paper over the cracks as the Clarets came up short in both penalty areas. Christian Pulisic scored a 'perfect' hat-trick with a left foot, right foot and headed effort.

Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood both celebrated signing new contracts with goals that propelled the Clarets to another big win over the Hammers. The combination of Barnes and Wood and an own-goal from goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez brought a welcome end to a three-match losing run.

Watford 0 - 3 Burnley
Three second-half goals secured three points against bottom of the table Watford to move the Clarets up to 6th. Chris Wood hooked home a loose ball from a corner before Ashley Barnes scored from the penalty spot and then James Tarkowski put the gloss on Burnley's victory at Vicarage Road.

Jay Rodriguez came off the bench to cap a Scrooge-like performance with on the eve of Christmas with a late winner. It was a physical Burnley side had offered little as an attacking threat in a disrupted match littered with fouls and strong challenges. The three points takes the Clarets up to 10th in the Premier League table.

Burnley secured a stunning three points with a 2-0 win over Manchester United courtesy of Chris Wood and Jay Rodriguez goals. Back-to-back wins mean Burnley move level on points with 10th-placed Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Everton and Newcastle - all five teams locked on 30 points.

Burnley have signed midfielder Josh Brownhill from Championship side Bristol City on a four-and-a-half-year contract for around £9m.
Nahki Wells has moved in the other direction joining on a three-and-a-half year contract, with Bristol paying in the region of £5m.

Burnley wasted the chance to punish Arsenal, who escaped from Turf Moor with a point from a goalless draw. Jeff Hendrick and James Tarkowski were most culpable of missing with headers, both failing to hit the target from close range, while Jay Rodriguez volleyed against the underside of the bar when he should have scored.

Southampton 1 - 2 Burnley
Matej Vydra produced a moment of magic to end his goalscoring drought and keep Burnley looking up in the Premier League after inflicting defeat on Southampton. Vydra, a first-half substitute, scored his first goal for 511 days to fire his side to victory in filthy conditions on the south coast after a freakish goal by Ashley Westwood opened the scoring.

Matej Vydra and Jay Rodriguez got the opening two goals as the Clarets set up a fourth win in five games. VAR also played a part in effectively disallowing two Bournemouth goals and awarding Rodriguez the penalty which preceded McNeil’s magnificent finale to a manic second half. The Clarets march up to eighth place in the Premier League.

The Clarets took a deserved first-half lead when Wood tapped home the rebound after Hugo Lloris had spilled Jay Rodriguez's long-range shot but Dele Alli's penalty earned Spurs a draw as the Clarets remain three points off the top seven.

All elite football in England has been suspended until at least 3 April as a result of the spread of coronavirus. All Premier League games, EFL fixtures and matches in the FA Women's Super League and Women's Championship have been postponed. The Premier League said action would resume on 4 April "subject to medical advice and conditions at the time".

The Premier League, English Football League and Football Association have announced the suspension of all domestic football will be extended to April 30 at the earliest due to the coronavirus outbreak.
However, they are committed to ensuring the 2019-20 campaign is completed after changing an FA law to allow the season to be 'extended indefinitely' past the previous June 1 deadline.

Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez both scored twice as Manchester City thrashed Burnley to ensure Liverpool will have to wait a little longer to wrap up the Premier League title. The Clarets did not manage an effort at goal until Dwight McNeil lashed a free-kick into the empty stand behind Ederson's goal after 63 minutes, and that was the only time they came close to threatening a reply.

The Clarets move up to 11th in the table after Jay Rodriguez scored the decisive goal, with a glancing header from Dwight McNeil's cross. Prior to kick-off Burnley displayed a fan led video in support of Black Lives Matter with a players from both sides also taking a knee in support of the movement.

Jay Rodriguez proved himself a man for all seasons with a historic goal for the Clarets to keep them in the hunt for Europe. Rodriguez became the first Burnley player to score in all 12 calendar months as he added to his winning goal in June against Watford with another at the London Stadium.

Brilliant Burnley did what no other Premier League side has managed at Anfield this season as they stopped the champions in their tracks. The draw takes The Clarets up to ninth place, above Tottenham. They are only two points behind Wolves in a potential European spot.
