Couldn't resist, maybe it is the bit where someone who doesn't attend or put anything into the club yet constantly whinges at the club makes me want to ridicule their stupid comments

Would be a superb signing. 24 years old, good footballer and bags of potential. Time to improve under Dyche but has also played as a defensive midfielder at times for BCFC I think so could prove very useful in that respect. I think it could be a bit like when Leicester signed Maguire - it was a decent outlay....but look at his value now. Would much prefer us to spend £10-12m on this lad than Dawson.

Wouldn’t say no to this. Good age, won basically all of the awards for Bristol City last season, versatile to an extent. Should offer Long as part of the deal IMO, but don’t HAVE to.

Or Vydra....? I think Bristol City have been linked with Vydra in the press.

Problem might be that we won't be able to match the wages on offer from the other clubs mentioned

Still, showing him around the centre of Burnley on a wet Saturday night might just swing it ;)

Rather have Benrahmi ...... we've got 3 strikers who can score from close quarters - they just don't get decent service!

Marc Iles from Bolton News tweeted there's definite interest from Burnley / Sunderland in Harry Brockbank but Bolton are trying to get their act sorted out. The report says that Dyche has actually met with him, he's a right back so could be a one of those who will be ready once Bardsley packs up.

Not a rumour to inspire some UTC posters.

I don’t know much about him but I’d have thought, from what we’ve had from the likes of Trippier, Mee, Keane, Tarkowski and now Taylor, bringing in a young defender with potential, is exactly what a lot of posters would like to see. It’s the conveyor belt that we need to keep running.

Couldn't agree more. Its our stated business model, bring them in, add value, and sell a few years later when they are at or near their peak value.

I totally agree it is the type of potential we should be signing. Some utc posters will want a foreign import costing millions. If dyche has actually met with him there's probably a good chance of signing him if he likes an omelette.

It's a good model for sure but all the players listed had decent league experience when we signed them. I imagine this lad is more for the Development Squad

Probably more a case of a season long loan in league 1 or championship. Wouldn't loan him back to Bolton as he'd be in a relegation battle. NL does a small snigger.

Interesting response to boden asking if Rigg should be fired if it's another disappointing window.

Depends really. His role is “technical director”, so if he fails to identify suitable targets and the window fails then sure, he has to take a lot of responsibility and a ruthless club would seek a replacement.

That being said it’s perfectly possible for a disappointing window to occur without it being his fault. If Dyche won’t budge from his favourites, and/or Garlick won’t match valuations for players even though they’re within our budget, then his hands are tied.

He's less than a month into his 2nd transfer window and not been in the job for a year. Most player contracts not up till 1st July and / or on holiday. Social media Clarets need a scapegoat for this disappointment, let's get him potted.

We have plenty of time left in the window. I think I've been more vocally sceptical about Rigg than anyone else. It helps to keep the new guy on his toes. Having listened to him awhile back on Training Ground Guru Podcast he seems to be settling in well at the club and he gave a good interview without any managerial buzzwords or show boating claptrap - which is a vast improvement from the interviews he gave when he arrived. So I am a little more optomistic about him.

If anybody missed the podcat here is the link

https://www.hudl.com/blog/episode-two-o ... burnley-fc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I thought is was a very interesting and informative listen.

However, the proof of the pie and gravy is in the eating and I'm expecting a solid window after all of the planning in the last six/seven months. Notably in terms of quality additions to the development squads that will allow us to "catch up quicker" instead of waiting till all of the younger lads progress through the system - which could take years. Adding some good 20-23 year old players could allow us to pick up the shortfall and make up some ground in terms of players coming through or being sold.

Obviously, I would also like to see the arrival of a couple of first teamers to fill key spots at respectable prices. Sean gave a couple of interviews asking us to be patient in this window, because nothing was going to be done early. It seems to fit with our well worn strategy of waiting until the other clubs have spent the bulk of their transfer kitties before we dust off our cheque book.

I'm guessing that the thinking is to reduce the competition we might experience when we go in for players, but leaving things until the last minute carries an equal number of negatives. I don't have a problem letting other clubs do the leg work to fix a price for players so we can then step in or allowing them to flush out players open to a move. It can make things a lot easier and cheaper in some cases.

Early days yet, for the window and Rigg, but we certainly need to see signs of improvement in our recruitment when we consider how Garlick has backed that side of the club with increased investment.

I don't know anything about Boli Bolingoli or whether the rumour has any substance. It seems a bit out of left field (if you will pardon the pun). Maybe someone said if Hart leaves in July we might be looking for another goli and things got lost in translation.

Why bring him at all then? So Rigg should have already set up this amazing European scouting network within 9 months. Was that his MO?
