BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
TAA is a better footballer - his attacking play, dead balls and crossing is easily the best of any full backs in the league. With the way most teams play these days that’s more important than his defending.
Wan Bissaka looks a better defender based on what I saw last season. McNeil could not beat him and I didn’t see many wingers get the better of him last year - in this league given the quality of forwards that’s some achievement.
I thought Walker was brilliant when City came to the Turf last season - better than both of them - impossible to beat because of his pace and just as dangerous bombing forward....but I think he did have a few poor games last year and does not stand out in Champions League like TAA did as Walker lacks that end product and not many European teams play with an out and out winger for him to pick up either.
I’m not sure Wan Bissaka will be a success at United tbh. I think it’s a risky move for him going into a club in transition so much and with so much spotlight on him. He is a good player but if his confidence gets knocked early doors it could be tough for him. He’d have been better signing for Spurs or Chelsea or staying at Palace for another season.

TAA has been great...but still early days. Wan Bissaka excellent player too. Things change quickly. Trippier a good example of that.

I saw bits from the game but not what you mention. I was basing my opinion on what happened in premier league games any road.Tricky Trevor wrote:You can’t have seen him in the Euro U21 match with France. You wouldn't have picked him above Lucy Bronze from our ladies team. French winger screwed him into the pitch, then went back and unscrewed him. A long way from a £50m player and this deal shows how desperate ManU are becoming.

Why so few games in a season where Liverpool got to the CL final?Rileybobs wrote:You said Wan Bissaka is the best RB in the Premier League. A few reasons to back up why that claim lacks any substance or credibility;
- TAA won the CL
- TAA is a full England international
- TAA plays for a much better side
- TAA made 12 assists in 29 games
- WB made 3 assists in 42 games
- Liverpool conceded 22 PL goals last season
- Crystal Palace conceded 53 goals last season
Whereas you’ve claimed that WB is a better RB based on the few times you’ve seen each player live. Which claim is more credible?

What do you mean purely as a defender? Purely as a defender he was an integral part of a team that won the Champions League and were one point off winning the Premier League.Spijed wrote:Purely as a defender though TAA isn't anything special.

He played more games than Wan Bissaka in a team with much more depth. He's also missed games through injury. I think you're clutching at straws if that's what you're basing your claim on though.Quickenthetempo wrote:Why so few games in a season where Liverpool got to the CL final?
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Cut the nonsense ffs. Trent Alexander-Arnold is an elite talent, and is streets ahead of Wan Bissaka when it comes to the ability to play for the top clubs.
Full backs are not “purely defenders” in any team aiming higher than 7th. Hope this helps.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
And the key to Liverpool's defence was VVD. When players like Lovren & Matip can look good it says it all.Rileybobs wrote:What do you mean purely as a defender? Purely as a defender he was an integral part of a team that won the Champions League and were one point off winning the Premier League.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
It’s a good job TAA isn’t a centre half else these points about a 20 year, old coming off the back of a season in which he supplied 12 assists and won domestic football’s greatest trophy, not yet being a great pure defender might actually carry some weight.

Ah, World Cup finalist and Champions League winner Lovren who’s not good. Gotcha.Spijed wrote:And the key to Liverpool's defence was VVD. When players like Lovren & Matip can look good it says it all.
Another classic irrelevant point you’ve made. What has VVD’s influence on Liverpool’s defence got to do with the undeniable ability of TAA? I’ve got to shake my head reading this board sometimes.

I was just shocked it was so low. I know Milner covered a few games but didn't think he had a serious injury.

Would this thread still be on the first page of the board if people just posted Burnley transfer news with links and didn’t allow discussion? There isn’t any BFC transfer news.Garnerssoap wrote:Do bickering fishwives have thread title dyslexia

29 PL games. So he only missed 8 and I’m certain that some were from injury and would imagine that some were purely for squad rotation. I think he played more games across all comps last season.Quickenthetempo wrote:Oh sorry, on your post it says WB 42 games and TAA 29.

You know how transfer activity isn't going well when the main transfer links thread grows by 3 pages in one day.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Actually our transfer policy is going very well. Activity is looking pretty similar to what it was every other year under Sean Dyche, and his record in past windows proven by results.Steddyman wrote:You know how transfer activity isn't going well when the main transfer links thread grows by 3 pages in one day.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Absolutely serious. I find it impossible to believe BOTH that our transfer policy is rubbish and has been for years, AND that the lowest we have finished in the last 7 years is 2nd in the Championship and that we have played in Europe. These players weren't found under a gooseberry bush. They are the result of our transfer policy.box_of_frogs wrote:

Supposedly bidding for Dawson again...

What's wrong with Gibson?

He's miles behind TAA though, which is the bit that I think you probably need to go "Fair enough"
I'm not sure United is the right move for him either, as they don't look like a team or look close to being able to challenge.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I dint care who is better between two right backs that will never play for us.
What I do think is that Man U are doing exactly what the dissenters on here want us to do. That is to spend all our money on the first people who will sign at the price and wages requested.
Add to that Brighton and Fulham acting like kids in a sweet shop and it is clear we must have been doing something right over the last 6 or 7 years

I don't really care about other teams full backs I have to be honest, especially when they are not going to be signing for us.

In the absence of any Burnley transfer news then other things end up getting debated.
We would need a lot of MODs monitoring this messageboard if everyone was forced to stick to the OP of a thread !
