Why would we buy young high potential players when we can buy old knackered players for cheap? Did Dawson even feature much last season for West Brom in the Championship?Young_Claret_91 wrote:Supposedly bidding for Dawson again...

Oh well, we will make a ton of profit on Tarkowski that will fill up the dry power room. Not sure how long we can go selling our best players, banking the profit and replacing with old cheap signings but whatever.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Wan Bissaka is a much better defensive fullback than Alexander Arnold. HIs stats for tackling, interceptions, 50/50s won, etc are all over double Alexander Arnold's and I seem to remember the number of times he's been dribbled past this season is in single figures whereas it's 30-odd for Alexander Arnold.
It's not that surprising that his assists are much lower given he was playing in an average team which often didn't have a true striker. Whether that will improve at Utd we shall see. Personally I think that Wan Bissaka will end up being the England right back of choice in the future. Suggesting he's a poor player because of one bad England U21 game is bizarre.

As anyone who's played football at any level will know it's a hell of a lot easier playing in a better team surrounded by good players, look at Kyle Walker at City. As for the under 21 tournament, it's understandable that Wan-Bissakka's head was all over the place given the circumstances. I think him and TAA will be England's right back options from next season, with Walker being moved on.

Southampton stalling over Adams. £14m bid rejected may see them move on to new targets.

CT, I understand why you merged the threads, but for the love of god what about making your own pinned thread for links only that we can contribute to and if the off topic stuff is posted the mods delete it? If i didn't know better, I would swear the board has been infiltrated by them down the road, and purposely laughing at members buying the diversion tactics on some threads. Either way you may as well lock this this thread with my agreement on starting it as its become yet another totally out of control thread, rather than a point of reference which is why i started it.

We absolutely will, he’s cheaper, forget the ability or potential, the cheaper one shall be purchased like we saw with Vydra over Rodriguez, Crouch over Adams and Juke over Deeney. Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
But there are no links to BFC transfer news, so this thread would have no replies and would be on the tenth page of the board never to be seen again. Why are you so precious about this? The discussion on the thread has been around the transfer window - why would you just want a thread where people post a link and then can't discuss the content or other matters relating to the link?ClaretAL wrote:CT, I understand why you merged the threads, but for the love of god what about making your own pinned thread for links only that we can contribute to and if the off topic stuff is posted the mods delete it? If it was pinned as ClaretAL suggested then it wouldn't fall to the tenth page of the messageboard. I totally understand and appreciate the debate around transfers but some posters (myself included) would like a thread that keeps track of links to transfer targets without becoming so hard to follow due to argumentative tangents.Rileybobs wrote:But there are no links to BFC transfer news, so this thread would have no replies and would be on the tenth page of the board never to be seen again. This time of the year is really weird on here.
You either have folk making bullsh1t up regarding transfers, or folk wanting to know every bullsh1t link on the internet.
It really is a yawn.
Just give me a link to the official site with a photo of a player holding up a scarf or shirt.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
What's it matter about links? If there is anything in the story, there will be another link tomorrow which can be posted; if there isn't anything in it, there will be no further links and the story will drop into well-deserved oblivion.

Reading things on here you would think BFC were the only club to ever bid low and then stop bidding at whatever value we have decided the player is worth!SGr wrote:Southampton stalling over Adams. £14m bid rejected may see them move on to new targets.

Nobody knows what actual price tag BCFC are putting on Adams. They may be demanding way over the top stupid money that makes other clubs decide to move their sights elsewhere.

How can Birmingham have rejected 14mil for Adams?! Thought they were in hot water for rejecting a lesser bid from us in January?

Adams has gone for £15m? We paid that for Wood, so why couldn't we pay that for Adams?
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Find it hard to believe we pulled the plug at 14m , yet hes noe gone for a rumoured 15m .
Seems very strange if true.
He was our number one target for quite a while l.
Least the "fcuking around over 1m" crew will have some substance to their argument.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Can we please spend the money on a centre mid then. Adams to Rodriguez doesn’t make sense to me, they’re very different players.
Would be annoyingly typical if we persist with a “good lad” after attempting to sign a rapid up and coming striker with big sell on potential.

I guess we need to have a ceiling on a player, otherwise the fee could keep going up and up. If we bid more, Southampton could then outbid us again.Reecey1987 wrote:But yet we paid 15 m for a defender to sit on a bench but wont pay it for a young striker with plenty of potential ?
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Burnley will never sign a player if another Premiership club is interested. We just won't pay the fee or wages to compete so no point worrying about who we miss out on. I'm just going to wait and see who we have signed when the window closes which might be nobody if my expectations are realised.
