I think we will struggle with anyone as they will see from the outside that our first 11 rarely changes over a season

Could be as simple as, who's got more chance of stopping up...perhaps we flirt with relegation to much to make us an attractive choice for players

This is a fair point and a concern I share. Real risk it could impact on our ability to make signings. Dyche has been hugely successful and his rigidity has played a big part in that. But the downside could be that some new signings don't feature much in their first season.

Firstly, I’d like to apologies for the following post which may provoke discussion and doesn’t contain a link.

Maybe we don’t think he’s worth £15m so don’t want to spend that and then be accused of wasting money if that turns out to be correct. He’s not played at this level so none of us really know how likely it is that he will succeed. Interesting that £15m was also too high for Everton.

So we won’t be getting Adams

Any further on Rodriguez then? Wasn’t he supposed to have a clause that let’s him leave for £5m before July? Or was that just a friend of a friend said hearsay?

no loss missing out on Adams, Patrick Bamford has a far better goal record in the Championship and Vydra had the same record before he joined us

If we don't sign at least two if not three quality players I really think we'll struggle. We can't continue with almost the same team week in week out, it's eventually going to catch us out.

If this proves to be right then it really does show how far out these regurgitated rumours are. Why would they accept £9.5m less than we were prepared to bid?

Its looking like were gonna struggle this window . The only realistic target we have a chance of signing is jay rod and thats only because hes burnley through and through and would jump at the chance to come back home

Maybe because the lad agreed to stay and fight for promotion so the club inserted a clause in his contract . Not to mention he has one year left on his contract

“Burnley miss out after Adams signs for Southampton”
“Burnley miss out after Dawson signs for Watford”

Personally, I'd be OK with 1 signing - a central midfielder good enough to challenge for a starting spot. That will cost £15-20 million but it's a position IMO we need more so than any other position. We clearly have a spending budget and this is where I'd like us to spend it, if it means we can only splash the cash on 1 player.

I think if we just signed 1 player dyche will be miffed off going off his comments saying he knows were we need to strengthen . Not to mention we sold vokes to gives us a bit of flexability in the transfer window . I suppose time will tell if we do enough or not plenty of time to go . Lets not forget we usually wait until the last few weeks before it closes .

That leaves only 3 strikers!!. What makes you think would acceptable? I agree though that cm is top priority.

If Dawson has gone for 5.5m 12 months after we offered 12m, you've got to think we weren't at all interested, as theres not been many reporting bids/interest from us.

You've got to think we either
A. We don't want him and have another lined up, or
B. Tarky isn't leaving, so no need for a right sided centre half.

Same thing regards Adam's.

Realistically how many players do we actually NEED?
3 tops IMO.

im just gonna wait until the window shuts now and see who we sign . Ive been following your posts and you have been optomistic were going to have a good window . I know theres quite a bit of time to go before it shuts but realisticaly we cant compete with most of the premier league when it comes to wages . So if we sign nobody then so be it

Bit weird you hear it, it gets deleted, then Nixon says we’re willing to sell him for £30m a few days later for there to be nowt in it.

Absolute joke if we sell him for that price, that is absolutely **** all in this market for a guy on a 4 year contract. Fifty, no less - and if it’s to Juve or a similarly sized giant we should be ensuring a loan back agreement as with the greatest respect to McNeil he is a million miles from competing for a place in their team.

If Juve are serious I’d expect us to deal. £30m would suggest a decent opening gambit. I’d expect we’d be looking for £30- £40m, a season loan back, international appearance payment, Juve appearance triggered payment, and a sell on clause. Should he want to go would cover most bases for Burnley.

When they can't even get his position right I'm not sure I'd take their word on it.
