They don't want Dunk, they want Tarks. Leicester are spreading that story to get Burnley to negotiate on price for Tarks. Brighton journos saying there is nothing in the links to Dunk.Steve1956 wrote:Have I read this right,if Maguire leaves Leicester for United, they will pay Brighton £45 million for Lewis Dunk!!!,surely that's £4.5 million if not football has gone berserk.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Not sure how that works if we don't want to sell Tarks. Leicester saying they want Dunk would only work if we were desperate to sell which we aren't.Steddyman wrote:They don't want Dunk, they want Tarks. I don't see how Leicester would get any benefit from spreading a rumour that they will pay silly prices for half-decent centre halves. If they're willing to pay £45m for Dunk, then that becomes a fixed baseline for Tarkowski.Steddyman wrote:They don't want Dunk, they want Tarks. £50m and they can have him. Dyche knows how to spot a good CB and we already have Ben Gibson in the wings (don't care which foot he prefers to kick with!).

Would be a good signing and a long term replacement for Defour. Not sure he would cost the earth either. Hopefully there is something in this...Dodobdobodobo wrote:Victor Camarasa? He looked a decent player

Link for Camarasa:

Would not say no to this - solid player, great physically, versatile as well. Can play centre and right mid. I do hope there’s something in this one.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Camarasa is a good player and would definitely improve us. We still need a ball winner in midfield though.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I'd be happy with Camarasa. A decent age and chips in with goals. Would be a good signing I reckon.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Camarasa is good player and did well for Cardiff last season. Probably their best player.
Two things though. Firstly, didn't Warnock have something to say about his attitude last year? And secondly, I'd have thought we might be after more a defensive minded midfielder.

Don't know about his attitude or comments Colin may have made, but there is nothing wrong with improving areas when possible, doesn't mean we can't also be on the look out for a more defensive ball winning midfielder too.ksrclaret wrote:Camarasa is good player and did well for Cardiff last season. Not true at all - Brighton journalist Andy Naylor (Argus) said: "Dunk update. He is one of several names on Leicester's target list. If they make a move they will have to pay more than the 40-45m speculated," and then added: "People are scoffing at those figures, but is Maguire twice as good?"Steddyman wrote:They don't want Dunk, they want Tarks. Stupid comment by the Brighton journalist. If I buy a £500k house it won’t be twice as good as a £250k house. If I buy a £50k car it won’t be twice as good as a £25k car. Values for top-end players increase exponentially.ClaretTony wrote:Not true at all - Brighton journalist Andy Naylor (Argus) said: "Dunk update. He is one of several names on Leicester's target list. It's £21m depending on which source you look at. But even £21m could still be decent value in today's market.rob63 wrote:13m is his release level apparently, not sure if that's Euros or sterling, probably both soon!

Don't doubt your info at all Frank, I'd bear in mind that sometimes these Iberian release clauses are inflated beyond the amount deemed acceptable for a deal to be made.FactualFrank wrote:It's £21m depending on which source you look at. But even £21m could still be decent value in today's market.
It's not as if we'd offer the full release price anyway

It's only off Twitter. A Cardiff news website tweeted about it, so it's certainly not gospel. I hope there's some truth in this one as he looked a very good player and easily good enough to start for us.rob63 wrote:Don't doubt your info at all Frank, I'd bear in mind that sometimes these Iberian release clauses are inflated beyond the amount deemed acceptable for a deal to be made.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Yes, tidy player. Heard a couple of months ago that Betis were rather hoping Cardiff were going to make the loan permanent, otherwise he was going back out on loan. So a cheeky but not insulting offer might succeed?FactualFrank wrote:It's only off Twitter. A Cardiff news website tweeted about it, so it's certainly not gospel. I described Klich as the Thomas Muller of the Championship based on his first half of last season and a passing resemblance. I think he would be a good addition.

If I were Jeff Hendrick I’d be speaking to Dyche right now. Why sign Klich when we already have him? Ditto Camarasa as well tbf.

I thought it was commonly accepted that we needed another midfielder through the door as we only have four, one of whom is Defour.SGr wrote:If I were Jeff Hendrick I’d be speaking to Dyche right now. Why sign Klich when we already have him? Ditto Camarasa as well tbf.
10 goals and 8 assists from midfield sound like decent numbers and £7m in the current market is peanuts.

My Leeds supporting friend said Klich was a monster last season but absolute dog sh-ite the season before !

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Right age
Wont expect to start
Small fee
Low wages
Wont improve the first 11
No better than what we have
Wont need to compete for his signature
Could be legs in this

I don't know enough about him to comment on him specifically really, but if the limit if our ambitions is £7m when a Defour replacement is needed then it does beg further questions.MACCA wrote:Right age

A defensive midfielder to compete with Cork, yes. Strong preference for one that would improve on him.Rileybobs wrote:I thought it was commonly accepted that we needed another midfielder through the door as we only have four, one of whom is Defour.
This wouldn’t be outright awful but it’s just not what we especially need for me, unless we’re really going back to playing 5 in midfield which I’d say is unlikely.

It’s not normally a good sign when a player has had 10 clubs in as many years and never managed much more than 50 games anywhere.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
The last thing we need is another steady Eddie squad filler. We should be looking for someone who is an improvement on Cork and Westwood and improves our starting XI.Rileybobs wrote:I thought it was commonly accepted that we needed another midfielder through the door as we only have four, one of whom is Defour.

I don’t know much about Klich so I asked a Leeds supporting colleague about him, today.
He really rated him and thought he would actually be better suited to the Premier League.
It’s not quite what I’d have wanted in terms of profile (I’d prefer someone younger with potential resale and perhaps who we had pushed the boat out more for) but it’s an area that we really need to strengthen in.

I don’t necessarily agree that we need someone to displace Cork or Westwood, more important that we sign someone who offers something different. And 10 goals and 8 assists from midfield, albeit in the Championshop suggests he would.jrgbfc wrote:The last thing we need is another steady Eddie squad filler. Have you seen enough of him to arrive at the conclusion that he’s be a ‘steady eddie squad filler’?
