Burnley Express, quoting SD.
But in terms of any more new faces, he added: “Ones that we thought might go somewhere have gone away, and nothing else has moved any closer.”

Whether we’ll make any more signings or not I don’t know, but bear in mind that SD did say that we weren’t close to any signings about 24 hours before Pieters signed closely followed by Rodriguez.

A shame. We did need the CM strengthening if we were to avoid a bottom of the table encounter like last season imo.

I can’t see where SD says we aren’t signing anyone else. 3 weeks to go and anything could happen.

Give them time, they'll get to next Thursday, have a couple of injuries, realise they've only got a fortnight left, then swing into action.....that's the usual scenario, anyway!

How long was the list for this scenario to happen ?

Surely the prospect of being a millionaire and playing in the premier League should entice literally hundreds of potential signings from the whole of Europe.

From the available pool, collating an interview / suitable
list should be relatively easy.

Dyche may just be saying this to make us not seem desperate to buy players so clubs don’t push us for extra money! May help us to seem like dark horses in a race for a player so other teams don’t act quickly to beat us to players as well.

Thing is so far with the money we have spent is the money from the sale of Vokes in January
Are we going to go to the last day again and either get gazumped or miss out on signing someone
We need to get a player in CM we no that Defour is only going to have a bit part to play
The only thing that i have seen is McNeil has been tried in CM so maybe Dyche is planning on this
We are sort of alright on the right side but if McNeil was to move inside i feel we need someone to come in on the left
We definitely need one more two if I am being greedy
If we only acquire the two we have picked up and i am hoping this wont be the case its going to go down another bad window for me

We're close to being decent. Just an extra body in midfield and possibly another option wide right, although Hendrick can do both averagely well.

He's been given the number 11 I think which suggests he'll start in his best position. I remember reading that he said he wanted to be like Ryan Giggs, which suggests he also sees himself staying out wide.

Dwight isnt strong enough in the tackle to play the midfield role we require, best left doing what hes good at.

You've got it there. We have all bases covered with good PL players so SD will only add if he can get better than Hendrick at a price that makes sense.

It’s that improvement season on season that we want to see. Last season, the starting eleven wasn’t really improved upon - no one was seriously expecting an improvement in terms of league position but I think it’s fair to say that it was a little disappointing that the first XI wasn’t improved.

We’ve so far improved the squad and potentially the first XI (let’s see what Jay brings) but hopefully there will be one or two signings to come, particularly in midfield, with whom we can have genuine optimism for a step forward in terms of first team quality.

Standing still somewhat last season didn’t do us any favours, though there were various other contributing factors. Still time yet!!

What we can’t have in my view is a situation where we’ve basically built 2 different XI’s instead of improving the one that we actually intend to play in the Prem. So far, we’ve improved on Vokes and possibly (?) on Ward - two squad players.

What is needed to take the squad to the next level is one, maybe 2 genuine first team starting players. Easy to look at the full squad and pick players who some might say aren’t good enough, but really from the first team I’d say there’s only one place that I’d describe as in critical need of improving upon.

Think you've captured a lot of fans thoughts there. Fingers crossed we get in two more players who'll improve our starting 11

The way things are now, I'd be happy with one good strong creative midfielder. Hopefully SD thinks the same.

Yep. If we had only more one signing and it was a quality central midfielder, that'll do me.

Spot on
Centre Mid (which I presume you are referring to) needs a better quality starting player than any of the existing squad - Defour always injured, Cork slowing down in all key areas, McNeil too biased towards left foot to compete in this key area and still not sure what SD sees as the position for Hendrick
Wide man would be a good addition if of better quality

A good CM would have to be our record purchase and 20milllion I would put down as a marquee signing
But this is the figure we need to be looking at to better what we have and I would like who ever it is to go straight into the side but as time goes on the player if we do get one will take time to get accustomed with the system we play
It's not a major issue but getting one in is

Which quite often means we’re close to an announcement. There seems a routine flurry of links and they all drop off it goes quiet and then Burnley do the “ Tada!” From nowhere.

Or it could just be quiet

Think you mean Rigg. We knew about Rodriguez so maybe he was involved with Pieters signing. He might just be responsible for identifying whether we sign them or not.

I worry about the average age of this squad because it is going to need one hell of a rebuild from next summer and maybe Mr dyche knows he might not be here to do this rebuilding so be happy with the current squad as it is.
So after successive poor windows with no emphasis on youth and maybe another poor season to come could potentially set us back 10 years as dismantling an ageing squad in one go will be a disaster.

So after successive poor windows with no emphasis on youth and maybe another poor season to come could potentially set us back 10 years as dismantling an ageing squad in one go will be a disaster.
