Genuinely couldn’t care less about Maupay. Slow midgets won’t generally succeed in the Premier League, hence why Dyche doesn’t sign them. I’m glad we’ve avoided him personally.

We’ve signed two players so far. At least one of which is back up. You do what you want but I’ll be judging this window 3 days from now.

We all know what we needed going into it. It has yet to arrive.

1 forward who is a rotation option, a replacement backup left back and swap the club captain and first choice keeper for a back up/prospect? And you think that’s good?

Lazy signing IMO. Adams much more suited to the intensity of the PL, Maupay is a beneficiary of Brentford’s system which focusses on creating chances in the Championship, like Scott Hogan was.

We are arguably stronger regards left back and a forward option.
Gk department is weaker although was good business and the right thing to do IMO.

I think an improvement to the starting 11 is needed now, or it can be fairly deemed a poor window IMO.

Perhaps we reached a dead end trying to sign a centre mid and so opted for another defender instead.?

All speculation I don't see any of the required links.

Sensible to sound out Fry if we think someone is leaving. Given that Boro' appear to still be in cost-cutting mode it's a very different scenario to dealing with some other top-end Championship clubs.

The two most likely CB departures would appear to be either or both of Tarkowski/Long - this looks like a contingency plan.

A lot of believable speculation the last few days on players leaving or arriving , just hope the squad is stronger and not weaker by Thursday evening, not confident it will be.

Feels weird going for another Boro defender when the previous one can’t get a game. Can it suggest anything other than an inevitable exit for Tarks?

Depends whether you feel that the loss of Crouch, Heaton, Walters, Ward and the purchases of Rodriguez, Peacock-Farrell and Pieters have improved our squad or not.

Let's hope Gibson doesn't have a word in his ear, doubt he would sell the club to Fry too much to be honest.

I also cant see is parting with another 15m on a defender to sit on his back side.
We really dont need all this depth when

A. We play 2 CB
B. We dont rotate
C. Our current 2 are hardly ever injured
D. We play about 40 games a season, don't take cups seriously, so no real heavy work load
E. We need other areas strengthening way ahead of another CB

For that sort of money we are more likely to end up with Barry Fry.

Don’t be crediting Boden with the rumour, he’s just wrote arctiles about it and fry after they have surfaced in the media. The guy knows nothing.

How hilarious is the Rooney rumour tho. Couldn’t compete with villa for Heaton but yeah Rooney is in our price bracket. Kind of makes Boden look a complete fool if I’m honest.

Got to say in today’s values £8m is a pittance and it’s no wonder they turned it down. No doubt a larger offer will interest them and who knows how much we can bid if Tarks goes.

Dael Fry was a regular Eng U21 and always looked good calm and composed.

We have more luck signing defenders and goalkeepers than centre mids anyway so that's something I suppose.

Sign another central defender and everybody will forget about midfield and speculate on the profit made on Tarks to spend in January.
