Ornstein saying it's close on the BBC. That's about as reliable as you can get.

Like any organisation BFC needs critical friends not cult followers. This thread has a number of people saying it will be fine if we only have 3 experienced specialists for cm AGAIN and some seemingly happy to give Jonas a contract.Darnhill Claret wrote:Summit doesn’t get ‘happy clappers’ does he. West Ham announce business complete for the day, so reports from yesterday that they also may be interested in Drinkwater can be put to bed.

We might be saying that if we don’t land targets, rather than play the blame game, we line up solid for the battles ahead.

And can you bring up the posts where people said we would be fine without signing another CM?

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Pretty perfect signing for us, assuming it all goes through. I’ve always seen him as a grafter, prepared to get stuck in, but offering a threat going forward with some clever passing. A 4-4-2 player as well. Ticks plenty of boxes and only gone 29 earlier this year.

Rob Tanner

#LCFC considering Tarkowski and Ake as Maguire replacement but no bids yet. My gut feeling is Ake but will be very difficult to do and expensive.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Assuming we manage to get Drinkwater wrapped up, are we expecting any other incomings? I am not being greedy with that as if there are no departures I am not convinced we need anyone else, just wondering really.
I am sure the Wanyama stuff is just a contingency, cannot see us getting both (although that would be unbelievably good).

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Signing Drinkwater even if it's only on loan and for a year is
extremely sensible and if Chelsea agree to pay some of his wages
not that costly really (3-4m).
Hopefully he'll be ready to start as soon as possible.
I think he has made a few starts for Chelsea pre-season so shouldn't be far off.
Let's hope he can buy into the Burnley way and want to make an impression.
Most fans, I think, will be happy if not relieved that we've finally got
a midfielder in.

I think the only other movement would be a replacement for Tarky if he goes.

If we get Drinkwater in we should shut up shop, send everyone home and turn the phones off to stop Leicester swooping for Tarka at the 11th hour.

Surely the Wanyama thing is pie in the sky nonsense, just doesn't feel like a Dyche signing at all.
