Gives them time to bed in and let's be honest we can afford to plan ahead.
I thought that was Gibson to be honest.

Drinkwater's main asset when LCFC won the league was his early long passes over the top for Vardy, without wanting to sound funny because I'm not he could be the perfect signing to keep Wood onside more by hitting those early passes

Is there only the DD one written CT, as I was told there were 1 or 2 other irons in the fire too, should 1 or 2 of the expected departures happen.

A midfield two of Drinkwater and Westwood would be fantastic for us. A nice blend of technique, energy and competitiveness.

Doesn't have much height but neither did a midfield pair of Drinkwater and Kante, and that won the league.

On a loan? Assume if that is the case then we’ve received no offers. Shame we couldn’t recoup some of our outlay there.

Sounds like the club want all and sundry to know that we are trying to sign someone.

Hopefully not prepping us for a 'we had him in the building' statement

But every well respected journalist not connected with the club seem to be tweeting he's having a medical with us.

I think it has moved on beyond a maybe but there is still the medical to be passed and final agreements to be made. He'd have been asked about him and I think it says much that he actually responded, even with a maybe.

Getting a little late in the day.

I'd be delighted when the DD gets over the line, and then you could close the window for me baring the obvious departure or 2, and the kids going out.

If young players are going out below Championship level they don't have to be done today. I know of a couple that are likely to happen but not expecting them to be today.

Press conference just on SSN. Dyche says more than a bit to do with Drinkwater, but seems positive. Defour more than weeks away from playing.

Yeah, not good regarding Defour. Sounding like months rather than weeks, which suggests to me we're looking at the latter half of the season.

Defour won't play for us again. That has been obvious for a while and is the very reason we've needed another midfielder this summer.

Thankfully his contract is up next summer so we can get his hefty wage off the books.

Charlie Austin has passed a medical at West Brom. That's one ex-player who can't score against us on Saturday.

Although after his spat with the manager he may have been more likely to score or us!
