Adequate? You must have ridiculous expectations if you think it would be no more than adequate.

Played 142mins in 7 preseason games so about 25% of available minutes. Played 45mins twice out of those

Not bad considering he's been told he's surplus to requirements.

Agreed, but within the first month of the season Drinkwater will be starting, I am relatively certain of that. Just illustrating how good our first 11 would be with him in it.

That is a (touch wood!) mid table Premier League first 11 there.

Flower ? whats up are you throwing one off ???

Lets see how he does first as he has not kicked a ball in anger for 18 months but if we get what he was like at the foxes then a great deal but prefer signings to loans but understand this deal.

SKY SPORTS NEWS
AGYEI TO SIGN FOR OXFORD UNITED

Burnley's Dan Agyei is close to joining Oxford United on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old was offered a new contract by Burnley so a compensation fee is likely to be involved.

Lad needs to leave for his own good, he's clearly not wanted here and won't play. Too expensive for that. I hope we get him out on loan today or perhaps sell him to a foreign team over the next few days as their windows will still be open.

Hell, in cup competitions I would rather see one of the young lads like Lewis Richardson get a go up top seen as we don't really see the Cups as something we want to progress in.

Get Drinkwater in and think even the 4-5-1 looks stronger for the away games, midfield 3 of Westwood, Drinkwater and Cork is strong. If we could just get that Defour man fit to play 90 min every week it be without doubt the strongest midfield I’ve ever seen at Burnley.

I never said we would not sign someone. Simply pointed out the likely consequences of not doing so. I have no problem with the ultra patient. Its the ones that denied what 90% plus knew was needed that should be embarrassed.

Yes the loan signing of Drinkwater would make this window adequate. As in we are temporarily a bit improved from last year.

Our goalkeeper situation has been weakened, our forward options improved and defence we have swapped a back up for a back up. We desperately required a CM for a while now and Drinkwater fills that void albeit for a season only.

To make it a good window would require 2 or 3 signings which would be better than what we already have without selling.

I’m not a happy clapper who just seems happy that we have a professional club. That small minded mentality is where thinking this window is excellent comes from.

I haven't said that we have had an excellent window. I am very satisfied with it though. We have brought in three very good players and only lost one first team regular, who we have a very, very good replacement for

(Assuming the Drinkwater deal gets done and Leicester don't grab Tarks late in the day).
