Adequate? You must have ridiculous expectations if you think it would be no more than adequate.Right_winger wrote:Wait a minute excellent window? Seriously ? Getting in Drinkwater on loan would nearly make it adequate no more and no less.
Without the Drinkwater signing it would have been yet another poor window.

This is why you struggle. People knew we needed someone in, but rational folk would say wait til the end of the window before judging. You seem to cry all the way through the window and then when it turns out ok try and turn it on others for being patient

Not bad considering he's been told he's surplus to requirements.

Lets see how he does first as he has not kicked a ball in anger for 18 months but if we get what he was like at the foxes then a great deal but prefer signings to loans but understand this deal.

AGYEI TO SIGN FOR OXFORD UNITED
Burnley's Dan Agyei is close to joining Oxford United on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old was offered a new contract by Burnley so a compensation fee is likely to be involved.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Lad needs to leave for his own good, he's clearly not wanted here and won't play. Too expensive for that. I hope we get him out on loan today or perhaps sell him to a foreign team over the next few days as their windows will still be open.Dy1geo wrote:Vydra nowhere near the bench, could he become Burnley’s “Winston Bogarde”
Hell, in cup competitions I would rather see one of the young lads like Lewis Richardson get a go up top seen as we don't really see the Cups as something we want to progress in.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Get Drinkwater in and think even the 4-5-1 looks stronger for the away games, midfield 3 of Westwood, Drinkwater and Cork is strong. If we could just get that Defour man fit to play 90 min every week it be without doubt the strongest midfield I’ve ever seen at Burnley.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)

I never said we would not sign someone. Simply pointed out the likely consequences of not doing so. I have no problem with the ultra patient. Its the ones that denied what 90% plus knew was needed that should be embarrassed.claretonthecoast1882 wrote:

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Yes the loan signing of Drinkwater would make this window adequate. As in we are temporarily a bit improved from last year.ClaretTony wrote:Adequate? You must have ridiculous expectations if you think it would be no more than adequate.
Our goalkeeper situation has been weakened, our forward options improved and defence we have swapped a back up for a back up. We desperately required a CM for a while now and Drinkwater fills that void albeit for a season only.
To make it a good window would require 2 or 3 signings which would be better than what we already have without selling.
I’m not a happy clapper who just seems happy that we have a professional club. That small minded mentality is where thinking this window is excellent comes from.
