Stop worrying, we have got Calderbank-Park in the youth team.

Cork, Westwood, Hendrick, Drinkwater. Maths wasn't my strong point but I'm sure that is four.

I'm sure he will but I think some people may have taken it as a sign that there would be an announcement. (there may be, fingers crossed)

Like any organisation BFC needs critical friends not cult followers. This thread has a number of people saying it will be fine if we only have 3 experienced specialists for cm AGAIN and some seemingly happy to give Jonas a contract.

West Ham announce business complete for the day, so reports from yesterday that they also may be interested in Drinkwater can be put to bed.

Football definitely needs cult followers. Too many "critical friends" stop coming when things go badly.

I'm pretty sure critical friends are usually in a position to advise or even influence.

And can you bring up the posts where people said we would be fine without signing another CM?

Pretty perfect signing for us, assuming it all goes through. I’ve always seen him as a grafter, prepared to get stuck in, but offering a threat going forward with some clever passing. A 4-4-2 player as well. Ticks plenty of boxes and only gone 29 earlier this year.

And I'm not talking about David Jones

2010? Don't think so, think it was 2015 when we tried to sign him.

#LCFC considering Tarkowski and Ake as Maguire replacement but no bids yet. My gut feeling is Ake but will be very difficult to do and expensive.

Assuming we manage to get Drinkwater wrapped up, are we expecting any other incomings? I am not being greedy with that as if there are no departures I am not convinced we need anyone else, just wondering really.

I am sure the Wanyama stuff is just a contingency, cannot see us getting both (although that would be unbelievably good).

Signing Drinkwater even if it's only on loan and for a year is
extremely sensible and if Chelsea agree to pay some of his wages
not that costly really (3-4m).

Hopefully he'll be ready to start as soon as possible.
I think he has made a few starts for Chelsea pre-season so shouldn't be far off.
Let's hope he can buy into the Burnley way and want to make an impression.

Most fans, I think, will be happy if not relieved that we've finally got
a midfielder in.

It wouldn't be ridiculous to sign a replacement before Tarks leaves us either today or January.
Gives them time to bed in and let's be honest we can afford to plan ahead.

If we get Drinkwater in we should shut up shop, send everyone home and turn the phones off to stop Leicester swooping for Tarka at the 11th hour.

Surely the Wanyama thing is pie in the sky nonsense, just doesn't feel like a Dyche signing at all.
