Probably old news this as he must have been an option before Pieters arrived.

Opening up a thread entitled BFC Transfer news about a club that involves itself in the minimum amount of transfer activity means that it will just get clogged up with random postings.

He hasn't opted to stay at Getafe. He was at Eibar and we were trying to sign him but Barcelona had a buy back clause. They bought him back and have loaned him to Getafe. He's a left back and we've since signed Pieters.Newcastleclaret93 wrote:It appears Burnley have been chasing Cucerella. Player has opted to stay at Getafe.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Bit off topic (but most of the thread is!), but I’ve often wondered how these buy back deals work. What if the player doesn’t want to go back? It seems to happen more abroad that players are bought back just to be sold on to someone else in the same window. What if they refuse? With there being ever greater player power I’m surprised there hasn’t been a story somewhere of a player kicking up a fuss and not wanted to go back. I’m assuming there must be some financial incentives for the player somewhere along the way?ClaretTony wrote:He hasn't opted to stay at Getafe. The buyback deal is agreed when the initial transfer happens, and the player agrees to the buyback at that point. If a club activates a buyback then the player legally has to go through with it because he has signed the contract.FeedTheArf wrote:Bit off topic (but most of the thread is!), but I’ve often wondered how these buy back deals work. I believe the came from Marca, a far more reliable source if true. However I believe it is fairly out of date as we now have A new left back and he was the option.dpinsussex wrote:We have put in an £11m bid to Barcelona if you believe the ever so reliable Sun

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
If it is one of our three then I hope it is Hart going to Stade Rennais. Nope, I don't know anything at all, but that would be my starting point. Fantastic place to live, out of the English media spotlight, qualified for the Europa and they only have Tomas Koubek as competition. Wages would probably be a stumbling block.ClaretAL wrote:IF it is i wonder which of our 3 is on the move...
More importantly, Koubek has been attracting supposed interest from Porto and they just got a kick back in their pursuit of Kevin Trapp if this article is correct.
https://translate.google.com/translate? ... rev=search" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If Koubek should move it would cause a lot of ripples in the French keeper market that could open up some interesting opportunities for a quality player like Hart.
Unfortunately Rennais don't have many players who I would like to see come the other way, apart from Bourigeaud ( although I would prefer a more combative box to box type midfielder ).
Hunou recently turned down a move to Angers after Rennais reputedly accepted a bid of €3m, but he is a middling player. Lea Siliki has slightly more to him, but still nowhere near good enough for us.
Bourigeaud would improve our creativity and attacking threat, while providing an option for centre midfield or either wing. We could bring in another midfielder later, because I can't think of a quality do-it-all type of player who would fall within our price range. Browne doesn't seem to have any intention of leaving Preston ( which was a surprise ) and Tonny Vilhena ( my other cheap pick ) went to Krasnodar earlier in the window.
The speculative media buzz around Bourigeaud seems to have diminished in recent weeks, but he would still represent an expensive signing ( which is risky ) and Rennais might not want to sell him. Asking him to give up Rennes and come to the North of England would be a very big ask as well.
I'm not sold on the idea of going after Bowen, because he will be expensive and I'm not sure what we would do with him this season. We already have JBG, Lennon, Hendrick and Brady who can all play on the right wing so adding him would seem superfluous to our immediate needs. I wouldn't say no to Robbie McKenzie from Hull as one for the future though, with his contract expiring next year.
Scroll down, on the fly edit: It's Tom, oh ********

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
If it is BPF, then hes certainly young enough to develop, he was around the national side at 19. He's a big lad too.
I've only seen him a few times, but his handling seemed very suspect and with the way we defend that has to be top notch, but as said above certainly plenty of time to work with him.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Hopefully, if Macca's info is correct, we are some way down the road with a midfielder.
I know you can't control what order signings drop in, but I would be a bit non plussed at seeing Bailey Peacock-Farrell coming in when we seem to have made no progress in ditching Joe Hart, and have not agreed a fee with Villa for Heaton.
