Which if like any of our previous 4th choice strikers, will be lucky to get 90 minutes for the whole season combined.FactualFrank wrote:So will this mean we're keeping hold of Wells as our now 4th forward?
I expect Palace will beat us to every ticked box for a player like him.Longsider wrote:Another one bites the dust.

No I don't know that. My post was saying another of our possible links is not coming to Burnley.creepingdeath wrote:So you know he wanted to come to burnley and not London?
Name me a player who had to choose between us and another team? .... You have to put bids in for that to happen! So you know he wanted to come to burnley and not London?
The key one being Palace have deeper pockets and can pay more.FactualFrank wrote:I expect Palace will beat us to every ticked box for a player like him.

Am I reading too much into it by thinking he might be covering his tracks about being spotted at the Riverside to avoid speculation? Or could he simply just mean he'll be watcing on TV?
He said that Palace had asked for a reference and that we'd enquired.TheFamilyCat wrote:Wasn’t it reported that Colin said we’d asked Cardiff for a reference? If that’s right there was clear interest. His agent may simply have told us that he didn’t fancy it.
Yes, £3m ..... in instalments over 10 years. And you know we havent bid for him?
What time is the latest on thursday players can sign to be eligible to play on saturday ?ClaretTony wrote:And if Neuhaus is having a medical today he's very likely going somewhere else.
It's Friday!!Reecey1987 wrote:What time is the latest on thursday players can sign to be eligible to play on saturday ?
Aye it is - almost represents value in a crazy summer, but I think I saw last year that Palace had the 17th highest wage bill in the whole of Europe.randomclaret2 wrote:Bargain at that price
5pm, I think.Reecey1987 wrote:What time is the latest on thursday players can sign to be eligible to play on saturday ?
Window closes at 5 p.m.Reecey1987 wrote:What time is the latest on thursday players can sign to be eligible to play on saturday ?
It is. That’s why the transfer window closes at 5pm next Thursday. At least it’ll all be over by the time I get home from work and I won’t spend the evening watching SSN in the forlorn hope we’ll sign someone else.FactualFrank wrote:5pm, I think.
Makes a change from Arry when he was at QPR. Every player we got linked with, they were linked the next day.FactualFrank wrote:I expect Palace will beat us to every ticked box for a player like him.
Maguire to Man Utdcreepingdeath wrote:Maguire to man yoo is happening batten down the hatches
Hopefully. Way too late in the window to be selling someone like Tarky. We may get £50 mil, but we get more than double that if we remain in the Prem.Vegas Claret wrote:Maguire to Man Utd
Dunk to Leicester
Webster to Brighton
If 2 London teams are chasing him,i can't see him moving up North, wages would be hefty as well, plus no resale value, unless Tarks or Gibson are moving on,or indeed both,i can't see where he'd fit into our 1st 11,and at his age he'd need to be playing regularly, that's the reason he left Chelsea,he wasn't getting enough footie.Spijed wrote:From the BeeB:

It would only make sense if we already have a guaranteed replacement.FactualFrank wrote:Hopefully. Way too late in the window to be selling someone like Tarky. We may get £50 mil, but we get more than double that if we remain in the Prem.

Seen it somewhere today Leicester are going to offer £25 million + addons for Tarkowski sell Maguire for £80 million then try to have our pants down you have to admire their cheekAndyClaret wrote:Fee agreed with Man Utd, cue the Tarky speculation now.....
No, we appear to have a gap between the ages of 19-25, Taylor excepted. Does seem to require some investmentMACCA wrote:Which if like any of our previous 4th choice strikers, will be lucky to get 90 minutes for the whole season combined.
I'm happy to ship out Vydra, as obviously something has gone on ( too much talking in the media ) and Mr Dyche doesnt fancy him.
Think he was got as Jay Rod wasnt available, now he is here, I think it'll be tatty bye.
Still certain we will bring in at least 2 more bodies.
There were murmurs we were looking at a few younger lads for the future, that would command fees.
I wouldn't be adverse to spending a few million there ( which will be easily spare ) once the first team had been taken care of.
If Leicester were to offer £25 million for Tarks I would hope the phone is slammed down at Turf Moor after saying come back with three times that.Steve1956 wrote:Seen it somewhere today Leicester are going to offer £25 million + addons for Tarkowski sell Maguire for £80 million then try to have our pants down you have to admire their cheek
Maguire isn't even a world class footballer!Stayingup wrote:Yes. Just read it £85 million. That makes it £10 million more than for Van Dijk at Liverpool and proves that football is f+++ing crazy.
We've signed two players in that age group today.rob63 wrote:No, we appear to have a gap between the ages of 19-25, Taylor excepted. Does seem to require some investment
Fully agree but its the premium that seems to be put on English players. Plus these clubs with foreign owners do not need to sell unless they get silly fees like this. This is where we will always struggle when keeping players. But rather have what we have than an owner who is using us for fun for a couple of yearsSpijed wrote:Maguire isn't even a world class footballer!

According to some reports he didn't want to leave Spain full stop, so the bright lights of London may have been a slight inducementTheFamilyCat wrote:Wasn’t it reported that Colin said we’d asked Cardiff for a reference? Peacock Farrell, McNeil, Dunne, Koiki, Benson that we know of. This is why clubs have U23 sides now. Players are probably playing 5 years longer than they were 20 years ago meaning not as many young lads are getting a chance. Managers arent willing to risk there job on an untried youngster over an experienced pro. Too many trigger happy chairmen around.rob63 wrote:No, we appear to have a gap between the ages of 19-25, Taylor excepted. Does seem to require some investment
