We’ve needed a new CM for about the last 4 windows, no point getting your hopes up.Blackrod wrote:6 Days left. Still no decent midfielder.
Have we, by gum! Still at work so haven't read the latest, I'll check later, thanks.Tall Paul wrote:We've signed two players in that age group today.
Course he is. That's what they do.randomclaret2 wrote:'The other 4 we have ' ....are you including Defour in that?
Yes, 3 midfielders. Bailey, Farrell and Peacock.Vegas Claret wrote:I've been out for an hour, have we signed anyone ?

Swap deal for Phillips?Hedontplayforyou wrote:Rumours starting to go round that we have agreed a deal with Leeds to sell Vydra
That would be the ideal scenario if Vydra had to go.DCWat wrote:Swap deal for Phillips?

According to the BBC Harry Maguire is now the 12th most expensive signing in the world!Steve1956 wrote:Maguire isn't fit to lace VVD's boots.
Can't see Finbarr going unless SD has bigger plans for Jimmy Dunne.ayrshireclaret83 wrote:Kevin long linked with Forrest on Sky Sports
That’s because he’s currently one of the best defenders in the world.Spijed wrote:According to the BBC Harry Maguire is now the 12th most expensive signing in the world!

A crazy football world!
Agree. He’s barely had a chance. We don’t see what goes on behind the scenes though. Maybe Dyche wants him to play differently to his natural game. Lennon has turned into a dreadful player imo scared to take on a man and pass the halfway line and yet McNeil has free reign. Would love to know what Vydra isn’t doing right.burnleymik wrote:If true I feel bad for the guy, he was hung out to dry at Burnley, never got a fair shot.
Well that’s one opinion.Rileybobs wrote:That’s because he’s currently one of the best defenders in the world.
VVD was very good with Southhampton. He has become world class at Liverpool.Rileybobs wrote:That’s because he’s currently one of the best defenders in the world.
I agree. It's also a shame that I'm absolutely convinced that he'll do very well for them - worth a punt on him being Championship top scorer if the move goes through.burnleymik wrote:If true I feel bad for the guy, he was hung out to dry at Burnley, never got a fair shot.
Will be interesting to see what happens with McNeil now he's a bit more established. Will Dyche let him play his natural game or will we see all the flair knocked out of him?Blackrod wrote:Agree. Yep, and it’s one that’s shared by a lot of people with more football knowledge than you I.Tricky Trevor wrote:Well that’s one opinion.
I really hope he lets him play his natural game.jrgbfc wrote:Will be interesting to see what happens with McNeil now he's a bit more established. Will Dyche let him play his natural game or will we see all the flair knocked out of him?
I'm sure he will. He may move central in a few years but can't see that happening any time soon.Blackrod wrote:I really hope he lets him play his natural game.
Or maybe dyche has knocked the flair into him in the first place?jrgbfc wrote:Will be interesting to see what happens with McNeil now he's a bit more established. Will Dyche let him play his natural game or will we see all the flair knocked out of him?
Phillips was the playerLew200100 wrote:Not Ovie Ejaria it will be announced I am told at some point this coming week.
Compare him to John Terry & Rio Ferdinand at the same age and I'd say he's nowhere near as good, and they were considered world class!Rileybobs wrote:That’s because he’s currently one of the best defenders in the world.
You can't knock flair into someone, you either have it or you don't.CFS wrote:Or maybe dyche has knocked the flair into him in the first place?
That may be correct. But notice my use of the word ‘currently’. Harry Maguire is currently better than John Terry and Rio Ferdinand.Spijed wrote:Compare him to John Terry & Rio Ferdinand at the same age and I'd say he's nowhere near as good, and they were considered world class!
It's all well and good having an £80 million pound defender in your line up but when his defensive partner is this fellaSpijed wrote:According to the BBC Harry Maguire is now the 12th most expensive signing in the world!

Villa have put a 15 million quid bid in for him so forget that !DCWat wrote:Swap deal for Phillips?
Friday night comedy!! He has done nothing, absolutely nothing to suggest he should be in our starting 11. Every time he’s come on he looks out of his depth. Get him back to the ChampionshipRileybobs wrote:Yep, and it’s one that’s shared by a lot of people with more football knowledge than you I.
Phil jones would easy walk into our team .Steve1956 wrote:It's all well and good having an £80 million pound defender in your line up but when his defensive partner is this fella

That was my point,he's not good enough for United and they just shelled £80 million out for his partner.Reecey1987 wrote:Matter of opinion
Phil jones is a good defender . Maybe not good enough for united . Doesnt mean he wont get in most teams in the prem
