Eng Vs Bangladesh

Post by Quickenthetempo » Sat Jun 08, 2019 11:19 am

Managing to get a game in down at Cardiff.

Bangladesh won the toss and put England in on a green pitch. They started with a couple of tight overs and then England started putting a show on.

87-0 off 12 overs.

I thought England got a bit overconfident/sloppy v Pakistan and am hoping they can concentrate on the task and redeem themselves today. Certainly they're off to a very good start.
Good to see the weather is decent in Cardiff, I've stopped going there to watch because Ive had so many disappointing washouts and wasted a couple of hours travel each way. I was a member at Glam in the late 80s/early 90s (when I lived up the valleys); the stadium is really nicely situated and has improved hugely since then.

Yes looking very dominant after a scratcy start.
Think Bangladesh will struggle from here, their confidence looks shot and they're all looking around as what to do.
Think it'll only be a mistake off one of these 2 that'll see a break through, but even a collapse from here with our batting depth we should easily post 300, which will be too much.

120/0 off 18

I agree about Roy and the Ashes, he deserves it.

England turning the screw now. Expect the run rate to rocket.

Credit to Jason Roy he had a mare against Pakistan, but he's showing his class in this innings,England could well hit the highest score of the tournament so far, great response after a lacklustre performance the other day.

Roy and Buttler at the crease, it could get interesting if they stay together for a while.

Shame for Roy but an innings of 153 with 3 sixes in a row to end it is a cracking innings!

The hardest thing for these batsman is playing each ball on it's merit. Hitting 6 after 6 it's hard to control the adrenaline.

Massive mistake by Bangaladesh to put England in, but having said that they'd probably have got a hiding whatever, as their bowling is somewhat ordinary and their fielding is way less than that. Their batting is their real strength and imo their only slim chance was to bat first and post a total which put England under at least a degree of pressure.

Some very good batting today and special mention for Woakes and Plunkett who were brilliant at the end of the innings.

if Moen gets back in he could be batting 9 or 10 on current form.

His batting has been below par for a long while now. England were right to drop him.

I see they lost but one got a ton. Gives the smaller nations a chance.

Convincing win for England in what could have been a tricky test, remember Bangladesh have already beaten SA and run the Kiwi's very close, they are no mugs especially in white ball cricket.

Encouraging for England that all the batters are getting runs under their belt, and the bowlers are looking sharp and quick.

Just hope Buttler's injury isn't serious,Moeen might struggle to regain his place,he's been out of sorts for a while now.

Just seen Roy's hundred and his collision with the umpire,no doubt that will feature in a few what happened next scenes in coming years :)

Australia-India should be a corker, both are contenders and will want to lay down a marker for later in the tournament.

And New Zealand are 3/3 now and looking strong.

I'm all set for India v Oz (watching on TV rather than down the Oval). I'm very neutral, not too bothered who wins as they've both got 100% records so far - so that's not going to last one way or t'other.
India won the toss and are batting first & the Oz captain says he would've batted first too; a change from the usual desire to "chase". I think Australia will win but bookies have India as slight favourites.
