Worcs Vs Lancs

Post by Quickenthetempo » Mon Jun 10, 2019 12:02 pm

Jennings, Hameed, Davies, Jones, Livingstone, Vilas (c & w), Croft, Bohannon, Onions, Mahmood, Anderson

Good start for Lancs bowling first. Worcs are 24/4.

There doesn't seem to be a stream available but here's the live scorecard.

47-5 now. There's a need to get some more bonus points in ASAP. As per all the other games around the country, there's a lot of rain due over the next few days so probably not too many results out of this round of games. Play in only 2 of the 6 county games so far today.

Lancs have got into good positions on numerous occasions this year. Now need to quickly finish the tail and not face 200 plus as they have done too many times

Two bonus points before lunch but the forecast from around 3pm today for the rest of the week is awful with weather warnings for Worcester tomorrow and Wednesday. It would be nice to get three quick wickets and that last bowling point after lunch before the heavens open.

Apart from this match, this weather has the potential to completely wreck the World Cup if the forecast is anything like accurate. Forecasting rain for more than a week!

scouseclaret - I watched a days play at Aigburth last week and it was absolutely bloody freezing.

Can you please arrange some warmer weather next time Lancs play there.

Welcome to the English summer,it's a shame but sadly there's not a great deal the organisers can do about the weather.

I suppose any NR games favour the teams that got points on the board early,so New Zealand,England,India and Australia have a better than evens chance of filling the Semi-final berth's,of course if any of those teams are rain affected, and the lower-placed countries can fit in games, this could turn into a lottery yet.

So far only Sri Lanka-Pakistan has thrown up a NR game, but the forecast for Southampton makes grim reading i'm afraid.

Yes- WC could become a bit of a lottery for the rest of this week at least, down to who gets the chance to get 2 points in a completed match and Duckworth/Lewis working overtime.
SA might manage to get their first point today if Southampton stays wet. Forecast down here is looking OK for England v W I on Friday though.

Raining at Worcester too now. This game could well be another that is not finished even though today is just the first day.
Weather up here in Northumberland is great with not one cloud in the sky --mind you, from the forecast that I have seen it is the calm before the monsoon starts.

Blimey- not sure how the batsman can deal with that movement and speed. Mahmood had 8 overs, 4 maidens, 2 for 8; Jimmy had 4 for 24 in 14.1 overs; Onions relatively expensive at 4 for 55 in 14 overs.
A grand day to be a bowler (and good to see in these days of huge scores in ODIs on batter-friendly wickets).
