Campbell as Labour leader?
Alastair is on the Jeremy Vine programme. One caller suggested that he could be the best leader Labour never had.
....but could he yet become that leader?!!!

He’d need to become an MP first.Im_not_Robbie_Blake wrote:Alastair is on the Jeremy Vine programme. One caller suggested that he could be the best leader Labour never had.

Re: Campbell as Labour leader?
Tom Watson would be the obvious choice for me. I like Alistair but don't agree with many of his political views. The role of Leader is intense and all consuming, I think his depression would make it impossible.

Re: Campbell as Labour leader?
Alastair Campbell has never been elected to any political position in his life so that sort of precludes him from becoming leader of the Labour Party....

Being chucked out of the Labour Party might also work against him a tad....Herts Clarets wrote:Alastair Campbell has never been elected to any political position in his life so that sort of precludes him from becoming leader of the Labour Party....

An absolute yes from me. Campbell, as an MP, would make 'Bollockdropper Boris' seem like Churchill in 1940.

Re: Campbell as Labour leader?
Not a chance he would take that job even if it was possible. It would mean he would have to actually do something rather than just pontificating soundbites from the sidelines on social media without any real substance. 'People's Vote' Campbell I believe he has changed his Twitter handle to and before I managed to block tweets from the self publicising pillock, there were countless tweets on an almost hourly basis demanding that Brexit be stopped and a 'people's vote' takes place.

Re: Campbell as Labour leader?
Imagine a lefty said: "Wouldn't John McDonnell make a great Tory leader? Aye, that McDonnell fellow would give Corbyn a run for his money, that's for sure. And Len McCluskey is far better than that Vince Cable guy, too. Yeah, McDonnell, Corbyn and McCluskey should be the leaders of the three main parties, instead of the utterly useless May and Cable!"
Well that's how silly this thread is.

If I was labour i would want Sir Keir Starmer to be leader.I reckon with him as leader they would have a good chance of defeating the Tories.
With Corbyn at the helm not a cat in hells chance.

Agree with this which makes it all the more baffling why Labour members are so obsessed with Corbyn. The Enclosure wrote:If I was labour i would want Sir Keir Starmer to be leader.I reckon with him as leader they would have a good chance of defeating the Tories.

You did see the result of the last election didn't you?
A snap election called by the tories, when the tories expected a virtual landslide....and the tories scraped a barely workable majority with the support of the irish bigot party.....and the leader of the labour party was ??

Re: Campbell as Labour leader?
The vast majority of threads and posts that involve Corbyn are by people who have a strong dislike for him. I think the other day someone wrote; "I hope he rots in hell" Would it be unreasonable to wonder whether supporters of other parties are more obsessed with Corbyn?Steve-Harpers-perm wrote:Agree with this which makes it all the more baffling why Labour members are so obsessed with Corbyn.
As for Corbyn getting replaced, what would be the point? Whoever becomes the next leader of the Labour Party will get the same treatment from the press as Corbyn has, and before long there will be threads on here about some transgression in the past, or perhaps like Corbyn's had, completely made up news, and people claiming that he or she is unelectable. Besides, Corbyn is at his best when campaigning, and I think that once Brexit gets delayed again in a few months time, there might be an election.

Corbyn makes me laugh. He’s an incorruptible m&s hirsuted rogue. The 1%ers are **** scared of him. I don’t get why we all don’t vote for him for a laugh.

I'd likely vote for a Keir Starmer led Labour party,he's one of the few MP'S that i can respect right now,i have voted Labour in the past, but not since 2001.The Enclosure wrote:If I was labour i would want Sir Keir Starmer to be leader.I reckon with him as leader they would have a good chance of defeating the Tories.
