Norwich ticket prices

Post by Vegas Claret » Wed Jun 12, 2019 1:52 pm

Fair play to them:

Norwich have made the unorthodox move of reducing the cost of their home tickets despite being promoted to the Premier League.

Instead of raising prices, which is the norm for most newly-promoted clubs, Norwich have capped all adult match tickets at £30.

The decision comes in the wake of Premier League clubs agreeing to extend the £30 cap on away tickets for the next three seasons.

The club's chief operating officer, Ben Kensell, said: 'As a club, we took a lot of time to deliberate around what we should do around the casual ticketing for home supporters.

'We believe as a football club that we have phenomenal support and we shouldn't price people out of football.

'So as a club, we decided that if £30 is fair for away supporters, then £30 is also fair for home supporters considering the price of a home ticket last time we were in the Premier League.

'No one in the ground from a general admission perspective next season will pay more than £30. That, as a club, sets us apart and we're really proud of that. We think it's the right thing to do.'

Premier League tickets will cost £30 for adults, £25 for over 65s, £20 for under 18s and £15 for under 12s.

Any loss in ticket revenue will be offset by a huge increase in TV money, with Norwich set to receive around £100million next season alone.

All 20 top-flight clubs are paid a basic amount of around £80m, with extra payments each time they are shown live on Sky Sports and BT Sport.

Good for them.

I have little bad to say about Norwich as a club. That song they do at the beginning of each home game is seriously naff, but a trip to Carrow Road is generally enjoyable, and that side they went up with last season is the most exciting one that I can remember watching in that league since Andy Cole was playing for Newcastle.

I particularly enjoyed their stuffing of Leeds.........

Their fans are kicking off about a £50 charge to guarantee away tickets, putting you in a club that gives priority over ST holders.

Good on them.
Why should their home supporters pay more than visitors?
Fill the the ground and get the next generation hooked whilst the good times are here.

Not to mention it could also be a good move to get the ground rocking on match days.

Nice gesture but doesn’t hide the fact they’ve been the most expensive tickets in the football league for years. They were the first non premier league club to charge over £40 for a ticket. Some Coventry fans boycotted their game at Carrow Rd because of prices.

Some interesting posts above.

Well done Norwich on home team fans. Well done for recognising that all the tv money does not need to be spent on players wages.

I like the idea of Coventry fans boycotting Carrow Road. Haven't they done the same for Coventry home games over a few seasons?

£50 for away ticket priority. That's less than half the price of the foundation - which is equal to the highest loyalty points in priority - but only a set number of tickets and doesn't guarantee an away ticket.

How much are their season tickets, also don't they have very few seats for open sale even in the championship ?

My ticket in the dearest area is £23 a game so fair play to our club as well.

Early bird prices, booking before February 10th, were £499.50. £26 per game. That's for the cheapest seats - £560.50 for the most expensive. So a fair whack higher than ours.

Crazy at Norwich. Away fans ejected for daring to stand while the Norwich fans stand alongside with no issue. We’ve come across some awful stewarding there.

This gesture won’t affect too many. They have very few seats that aren’t taken by season ticket holders.

Norwich, I believe, aren’t happy they can’t charge away fans more than £30.

Will Delia be on the cooking sherry when she stumbles onto the pitch to give a rousing speech to the fans?
