Southampton sign
Southampton have signed the Belgium forward they have been trying to sign for a few week.
With Austin, Ings and Long there as well it should rule out them going for Che Adams now.

Re: Southampton sign
Those 3 strikers didn't score many between them last season did they?

Re: Southampton sign
No they didn't score many at all, maybe if we got Danny back at Turf Moor he could change that.
Re: Southampton sign
Austin unwanted, Ings on loan only
Re: Southampton sign
I doubt SD would ever welcome Ings back.moaninclaret wrote:No they didn't score many at all, maybe if we got Danny back at Turf Moor he could change that.

Re: Southampton sign
Southampton committed to buying Ings after initial one year loan period - he becomes their player on 1st July I think - fee £18m and further £2m with appearances.gtclaret wrote:Austin unwanted, Ings on loan only

Re: Southampton sign
As they are currently buying him for £20m (under last year's deal), they won't be letting him go on loan.gtclaret wrote:Austin unwanted, Ings on loan only

Think we dodged a bullet not bringing him back.TVC15 wrote:Southampton committed to buying Ings after initial one year loan period - he becomes their player on 1st July I think - fee £18m and further £2m with appearances.

Re: Southampton sign
He won't be coming back to Burnley but, in any case, why would you want to sign a player who has played just 38 league games (29 of them starts) and scored 10 goals in four years since he left?moaninclaret wrote:Thanks for that TVC15, i were just thinking it would be good if he would come back, imagine his welcome on his first game!!!!

And that should mean a nice little windfall for us.
Was it 25% of everything above 8m?

There should be a nice big juicy transfee pot this summer, and that's before any sales.

Re: Southampton sign
3 million would certainly help. Pay wages for a very good player for some time. Or could be put towards the Cricket Field refurb.... and I dont mean those crap flimsy plastic seats.

I may be wrong but I was sure there was a 10 million loan fee. Meaning they owe us nothingMACCA wrote:And that should mean a nice little windfall for us.

Re: Southampton sign
It's 20% which is still plenty £££££££
Re: Southampton sign
There were rumours that they were trying to get out of it. Seems to have gone quiet now though.TVC15 wrote:Southampton committed to buying Ings after initial one year loan period - he becomes their player on 1st July I think - fee £18m and further £2m with appearances.
Re: Southampton sign
Pacey winger. Strikes me as the sort of player who’d have 3 good games next season but 2 of them would be against us
Re: Southampton sign
If it was that easy, everyone would do it. I have no idea specifically what procedures the league has in place to stop that, but I'm sure they have them.Cleveleys_claret wrote:I may be wrong but I was sure there was a 10 million loan fee. Meaning they owe us nothing
Re: Southampton sign
That is wrong. You cannot do that to avoid paying a sell on fee. It would be blatant contractual avoidance.Cleveleys_claret wrote:I may be wrong but I was sure there was a 10 million loan fee. Meaning they owe us nothing
When you see Klopps interview when Ings left it was pretty clear that he had gone for good and there was no option for anyone to change their minds.
