I hope the Lancashire weather is going to be kind. Big, big game about to start at Old Trafford, I've just seen an article suggesting that 1 billion people will be watching this game on tv (ticket sales for the live game were oversubscribed by a huge amount too).
India are favourites but Pakistan won the toss and India will probably have to get through an awkward first 20 overs and Pakistan can chase later today.

No doubt the Manchester weather will play some kind of a role!

Looks very one-side so far, terrific atmosphere.
India will take some stopping in this World Cup I think.
Great balance for their team.

Because with the large Asian populations we have here it ensures nearly all the games will be well attended, thus making more money.

I've got a ticket for the last group game, Australia v South Africa at Old Trafford.

95 pounds for what may be a dead rubber match.

Yet to see a real nail biting cracker, thought Sri Lanka was gonna give us that Yesterday, maybe Pakistan will here......

Absolutely loved the last wicket, batsman comes in tapping the wings lining his crease tap down another piece of rough wicket then out for a golden duck.

Surprising as it might be to you, the weather is usually a lot better at this time of year. We’ve also had some hugely successful World Cups in England.

Surprising indeed, I think the format needs a re-work or the host nation needs properly thought out, disappointing to see so many washouts, I believe statistically the wettest World Cup to date. Two of Sri Lanka's games have been off with rain, it makes the whole table a bit of a illegitimate mess. They should have planned better and put in venues/dates for matches to be re-scheduled.

Certainly a big difference from this time last year.

Me and the Mrs went down Manchester for the afternoon and not meaning to ended up watching quite a bit of it in the fanzone.Got to say the atmosphere was a bit feisty and most enjoyable

You are the one implying that the WC shouldn’t be held in Ehgland in June because of the weather. I was just pointing out that normally the weather is good in June, take last year for example, without having to expressly say what a childish knee jerk reaction to what has been one of the wettest weeks in June for many years. I was half thinking of popping along the the England/Afghanistan game at OT this next week and apparently it's totally sold out!!! (Which surprised me somewhat!!)

I was looking at getting a West Indies game in to watch their string of fast bowlers but it said sold out for the ones I could get to. Unless registering with websites.

I knew they were packing then in for today's game at OT. 28,000 and could have sold 10 times that number of tickets apparently, but for England v Afghanistan selling all 28,000 seats takes some doing so good on em. Unless, as you say, it depends where you look for tickets. I was looking on LCC's own site as I bought 2 tickets for the Ashes Test in September and couldn't believe the Afghanistan game was all sold out.

BTW, I've had occasion to go into OT several times in the past few months and I watched them constructing that mind boggling "temporary" stand which the TV and radio commentators were constantly going on about. It holds 8,000 and it's absolutely enormous and could almost be a hazard for planes approaching the airport! BUT having walked under it once it was completed and seeing it's a mass of thousands upon thousands of scaffolding poles ultimately resting on wooden blocks I thought no way would I be up there when it was bouncing!! (So I got my Ashes tickets over the other side! ) It's a bloody awesome structure though!
