Rolling Thunder
For those of a certain generation catch this film by Martin Scorsese. Must for all Dylan and Baez fans!

I must say, Dermot, that's certainly a step up from that Van Der Shaaf Procrastinator rubbish that you usually spout on about.kindonesque wrote:For those of a certain generation catch this film by Martin Scorsese. Must for all Dylan and Baez fans!

Re: Rolling Thunder
that reminds me Derm, baby,
I need to send you my solo version of Peter Hammill's Still Life performed in Berlin last year. It's a masterpiece by the master!

Quite probably, he is definitely on there and at one point says or is quoted as saying that Dylan hasn't spoken to him at all.dougcollins wrote:Memory a bit hazy, but was this the tour Mick Ronson walked out on?
Great film for fans of that era, Joni is in there doing an acoustic version of Coyote.

"No regrets Coyote".
Re: Rolling Thunder
Thank you kindonesque - I watched it last night. What an artist he is (seen him live twice, but only relatively recently) and what a band!!
And I think Joan Baez is one of those women who gets more beautiful as she ages!
Wow!

Re: Rolling Thunder
I watched Rolling Thunder last night. I wasn't expecting much or to be able to stick with it for long. It's more my parents era than mine, though I do like some of his music. I'll just say this, I still can't get over how utterly engrossed I was while watching it. One of the best things, music wise, that I've seen in years.

Re: Rolling Thunder
I was also blown away with the violin playing. Scarlet Rivera is a gifted musician. For me she gives Dylan's music an edge, sometimes ethereal and unworldly, other times dark and sinister.
This recent interview with her is worth reading.

Re: Rolling Thunder
Saw her farewell tour last year, or was it earlier this year? Either way what a human being. Talented, brave and beautiful.Dougall wrote:Thank you kindonesque - I watched it last night. What an artist he is (seen him live twice, but only relatively recently) and what a band!!
