There is a world of difference in a protester heading to the top table at a private event and somebody walking past you in the street. If you can’t see that then you are thick.

I suspect that you are not thick.

That's because you're taking it out of context on purpose, to suit your agenda.

If someone barged into a private meal and made a beeline straight to the top table it's good to know you'd do the square root of naff all to stop them.
Remind me never to have a meal with you.

She was meant to be handing out leaflets according to a colleague of hers that I heard on the radio, to raise awareness about climate change.

The woman made a beeline straight for the top table though, so it's quite possible that in the heat of the moment her intentions were unclear.

Let's not forget we've had Jo Brand making her crappy joke about using acid on politicians recently...it only takes one idiot to think that's a good idea instead of a joke and there are plenty of those kicking around
Oh give over! It was a woman armed with nothing more than leaflets. Unless he was worried about the top table getting paper cuts there was nothing to signal anyone was in any grave danger. In fact let’s face it (as has been previously mentioned on this thread) if it was anyone obviously presenting a clear threat he wouldn’t have moved a muscle!

To be fair, Martin and Greenmile do seem like the type of people who work in a security sensitive environment, where everyone they walk past in the street is a potential threat. I'd rather take their word than some Tory scumbags any day of the week

We have to do security training annually where I work. The advice is overwhelmingly against tackling any perceived threat yourself.

Hey, guys, this is a football message board, isn't it? Who are all these people posting who've never seen a steward stop someone going where they aren't supposed to be? Have they never been to a football game?

I suspect we'll see more stuff like this in the forthcoming weeks as people really take an interest in what Johnson has said and the reality of what actually happened. https://twitter.com/DavidLammy/status/1 ... 1647203328" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think most would agree that he has a cavalier attitude to the truth, he got sacked for making stuff up after all, and this will probably get worse as there is more scrutiny.

I suppose all those calling for the MP to be prosecuted for assault will also be calling for any steward who pushes fans away from celebrating players also to be prosecuted?

Well, its a mistake because it gives those with a very tiny brain justification (in their eyes for their beliefs)

is it a mistake because its letting them know that we are starting to get annoyed with them enough to think that its about time the problem was sorted once and for all?

I don't think it is.

This need sorting, its 2019 not 1970.

That’s a good way of putting it actually.
Lammy does come out with a lot of stuff that is probably not doing him or his cause any favours.
However - as you say it is understandable that someone who has faced the hatred and racism he has whole his life should be quite angry and for them to wish harm on someone who objects to his existence because of the colour of his skin.
If someone who had been abused wished similar harm on his or her perpetrator then in theory that would be wrong too...but equally understandable.

If it be your will wrote:That is a decent point, no question. But it's an exceptionally dangerous road. I'm not sure we're quite at the point where MPs should be suggesting extremely violent, extra judicial means to deal with the racism problem.
Oh I don't disagree. But how can you get to the stage where the casual racism which is now drifting in everywhere is put back in the box it has to be in if we are to progress?

I'm not naive enough to think that racism will be eradicated, but I'm also not daft enough (unlike others on this board) to think that its anywhere near or ever will be a "majority view".

Time for tougher measures in law I think.

Two-thirds of Tory members believe UK areas ‘under sharia law’
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/p ... 71731.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Unbelievable, 66% of members.

Amazingly this poll isn't as shocking as the one which said they'd break up the United Kingdom, f**k the economy and destroy their party in exchange for Brexit.

They literally would rather destroy the sovereignty of the United Kingdom to take back the fraction of sovereignty of the United Kingdom that we've exchanged for EU membership. They're ******* idiots.

BBC News - Tory leadership: Johnson defends Brexit plan and 'row' silence

"I was kind of hoping that opposing the assault of women would be something we could all unite on. But apparently that's a culture war too."

Sums it up perfectly
I doubt the circumstances would justify it. But yes, if you see me on the pitch at Turf Moor moving purposefully towards the referee, player, or other person with legitimate reason to be there, I would think you perfectly reasonable to firmly lead me the other way. And when it happens, I wioll let you know if it hurts more than the more normal approach of being flattened by a fat steward (or Bertie Bee).

When BB flattened that streaker against Preston, most observers thought it highly amusing and that he asked for it. What's the difference here, apart from that the treatments was a lot more gentle, and that she (presumably) hadn't adorned her backside with the numbers 2 and 0?

Well done to the neighbours for calling the police. I expect someone will be looking to move flats soon, not normally a "good neighbour" activity to record what is going on next door.

If my neighbours are screaming and shouting at each other am I in violation of their privacy if i don't plug my ears, or if i don't turn up my music loud enough to drown our their potential domestic violence?

So you are basically saying that all screaming and shouting from nearby properties is completely private to those involved.

Ok then.
