South America Power Cut

Intriguing?

The Guardian article on the subject said that in Buenos Aires it was pouring with rain and eerily quiet - 'it's like a desert' someone said. As a definition of a desert is somewhere extremely dry I thought that was amusing.

I am guessing it was a translation issue and they meant 'deserted'....

Partly true, but the Polar regions are also classed as deserts!

Fact... Anywhere with less than 250mm of rainfall is technically a desert.

It's odd that whole countries get a power cut but we can only discuss the meaning of 'desert'. Isn't it a concern to anyone?

The fact that we can get quite comedically side-tracked, or the Nation Wide Power-Cut itself?
