League Cup draw to take place in a supermarket
League Cup draw to take place in a supermarket
I did check the date on this one - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48661944" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My main disappointment with this news is that Dale Winton is no longer with us. They could have held a 'Supermarket Sweep' style draw and allowed the CEOs of each of the teams in the draw to dash around trying to find a tin of beans that said 'Man United away' on or a can of pop with 'Chelsea home'.

It used to be the Milk Cup. Now it's the Egg Cup, the ButterCup, the Tea Cup, ...
Re: League Cup draw to take place in a supermarket
Are the EFL taking it less seriously than Sean Dyche?
That's a joke before anyone gets upset.

Re: League Cup draw to take place in a supermarket
I just thought there might be a return to some normality with buffoon Harvey out of the way. Still, I suppose it might be at some sensible time and not in the early hours of the morning.
At least we won’t be at the checkout, hearing the beep, having fun on Supermarket Sweep. We are going to be left on the shelves until the next round.

Bonkers.
Hope VAR will be used to make sure there's no 'under the counter' goings on.
What basket case dreamt this up?

If they use barcodes everybody will think they’ve drew Newcastle.

The draw isn’t fixed or owt but, amazingly, Salford have drawn Leeds in the first round. I wonder if tv will put this game on???

Re: League Cup draw to take place in a supermarket
I think it was odds on that Leeds & Salford would both be shown live on the opening weekend in the league. It would be no surprise if this cup match was on as well.Foulthrow wrote:The draw isn’t fixed or owt but, amazingly, Salford have drawn Leeds in the first round. Salford versus Leeds is Sky's ultimate wet dream of a draw Probably not for the GMP though, I reckon a few of United's Salford lads might fancy that one!

Didn't notice Wimbledon had drawn MK Dons as well! Almost as if SKY have done the draw themselves

By United’s Salford lads fancying it, I assume you mean Beckham, Butt, Gigs, the Neville brothers and Scholes.jrgbfc wrote:Salford versus Leeds is Sky's ultimate wet dream of a draw Probably not for the GMP though, I reckon a few of United's Salford lads might fancy that one!
