Derbyshire recovering a little 71-5
After Onions and Anderson it is Mahmoud , who is excellent and Bohannon, not so good
Livingston and Croft to follow

91-6

Anderson and Onions are a combined 28-6 which just about sums it up.

Also Derbyshire managed a 50 run partnership amid the carnage.

Jimmys been expensive though. Going at just over a run an over!

We’ve let them off the hook getting to 153 given we had them at 24/5 & 91/8. We are 8/1 at close.

Poor again today when play is delayed due to a wet outfield.

This will be the third away game I think that Lancs have not been able to complete a full game because of the inadequacies of the opposition to protect the outfield from some rain.

If the clubs cannot cope with the weather should they be hosting County Championship games?

Bowling again impressive, let's hope the batters can stick around and build a useful lead,Jennings already back in the hutch without scoring. :o in his last 3 innings his scores are 0,6,0,not much chance of a return to the test side with that form.

All part of the plan.

Keep Jennings at home for the T20s.

Lancashire 94/4 at lunch, trailing by 59 ..... still some batting to come as one of the wickets to fall was nightwatch-man, Mahmood, who made 20 ...

Not a great morning for Lancashire, need a partnership somewhere down the order,a lead of 50+ would be useful in the context of this game, batting last chasing anything above 150 would be testing.

It's a bleedin good job our bowling is outstanding, the batting is still fragile,if promotion is achieved, that will have to be strengthened considerably, otherwise we'll be returning back to the 2nd tier.

Obviously missing the overseas and Buttler to the batting line up but they could do with improving.

As you said, a first innings lead of just 50 could be vital. We’ve got to make sure we at least get past 200.

Hameed and Jennings started the season with promise, but have rapidly gone downhill ever since.

Other teams have players away for international duty, and they don't seem to struggle as much, the batting has been a long-term issue, somewhat clouded over by a long awaited County Championship win

Vilas has dug us out of many holes, and obviously the bowlers have ensured we can remain competitive even with lowish scores.

But the class in division 1 will be a big jump, for both sides of Lancs game.

There isn’t one single batsman you can rely on and unless that improves it will be a constant struggle.

I suspect we might not get that 50 lead. Currently 189/8 so a lead of 36.

Hameed must be on thin ice again.
Hopefully we’ll see some better weather and friendlier batting wickets soon.

After getting a century in his first innings of the season, Hameed has scored 134 in his last nine.
The only batsman I have any real confidence in is Dane Vilas.
Our bowling is Division One standard, but our batting certainly isn't, and this is going to have to be looked at carefully during the winter.

83 to be precise, John.

Crucial twenty five overs or so coming up. If we can take, say, four wickets we could be well on the way to winning this.

I'm fine thanks. Loving the cricket World cup, and going to one day of each of Lancashire's home games at OT in the county championship.

18 hours of rain forecasted now but hopefully it'll dry out enough tomorrow afternoon to give some play on Thursday when the forecast looks decent. Should win if we get 2 more sessions of play somewhere along the line.
