Re: Wooden cricket field stand seats being sold
Thinking of buying one of these and cutting a hole in it and placing it over my toilet...do you think its feasible?
Re: Wooden cricket field stand seats being sold
I presume they would be quite awkward to bolt to a wall for example due to the angled iron from the seat to the back rest?

They do not make it easy for the average 9-5 worker do they? Surely it would be better to have it on a Sunday or an evening when more people are off work?

So it’s cheaper to buy an actual seat than a seat for a game?

Will we be allowed to have a root round and find the actual seat that was ours last season?

I agree with what you say but maybe an online sale would be better, don't forget the staff at the ground will want their weekend as well.gandhisflipflop wrote:They do not make it easy for the average 9-5 worker do they? At the risk of you not liking the look of an empty stand that you might see once a year on the telly. I would like to keep my larger wooden seat thanks.Steve1956 wrote:So are they not replacing the home end, that's going to look pretty bobbins if you ask me!
You won't be able to see if you just tune in for the actual games.

It's charity work ain't it? If it is staffed by club staff then pay them overtime or as you say hold it online. They do this with ticket sales also it really gets on my nerves

I’m sure I’ll fit a 40 capacity in my living room. Be sweet for when were on telly. The concourse will be bigger than the actual cricket field too.

Definitely getting a couple of these - no idea how to get them set up in the garden though as they understandably will come disassembled.

Looking at the picture you would have to bolt the seats to the wall at the bottom of the frame.jedi_master wrote:Definitely getting a couple of these - no idea how to get them set up in the garden though as they understandably will come disassembled.
The only concern is the back of the seat might slope backwards and not fit on a full wall.
They are attached to an 18 inch concrete step in the stand.

Entrance via Gate B2. Not sure which side that gate is but is one of the exit gates.whentheballmoves wrote:I may get mi dad to pop down and get me a couple. Bit far for me to trek over from Sheffield!

It’s the Community organising the sale, not Burnley FC.

Need to get these seeing my Knob End neighbours love them so much!
I will let them sit on them as it’s nearest to the Premier League they will ever get

Re: Wooden cricket field stand seats being sold
Looking at the pic from 2 weeks ago, seems that with smaller plastic seats going in for the visitors, it is now more like a 50-50 split in the stand. How many extra seats has it created for Clarets, and what is the capacity increased to? The more Clarets in there the better.

If I were swapping my big wooden seats for small cheap plastic seats I'd think I was downgrading, the amount of times I've heard away fans complain about our fine big strong comfy wooden seats being crap is unbelievable, Jeff.

I want a couple of the seats and was going on Friday. I'm now working Friday and am unable to get there now. Has anyone inquired about buying them to collect later ?

Re: Wooden cricket field stand seats being sold
This is the reply I got back from Sinead when I enquired whether seats could be collected on a weekend rather than working day for anyone who doesn’t live or work in Burnley:
“Due to the high demand we have been inundated with similar requests from those who don’t live in/aren’t in Burnley on either day and unfortunately we cannot accommodate them all therefore the seats will only be available to purchase via the sale on Thursday and Friday.
If there are any seats left when the sale finishes we will look at a process of taking payment over the phone and arranging for people to collect from Turf Moor next week. We will communicate this via social media if we are in the position to do this.
Kind regards,
Sinead”
Fingers crossed there will be seats left for collection next week and they find a way to allow this to be done on the weekend.

Re: Wooden cricket field stand seats being sold
Just queued up for 40 mins....got to front and they’ve sold out of the legs/brackets so only the wooden seats and back bits left so pretty pointless getting any as I’m not a metal fabricator. They must have put a load aside for friends and family to get through that number so fast. Still a big queue.

Almost sold out already. Cast iron supports all sold, only wooden parts left. Seems a lot was broken during removal.
Re: Wooden cricket field stand seats being sold
Reckon there were 100 in the queue ahead of us and most got 2-4 seats so if they all got 4 that would be 400 seats and 500-600 brackets out of what....2000+? Hmmm

There was never going to be enough iron supports for seats
1 support has 2 seats attached
1 seat would need 2 supports

Re: Wooden cricket field stand seats being sold
Just been down - didnt have to wait too long but there were just a few old seats left with no bolts or brackets. I suppose the ironwork will have corroded over the years and the seats left were badly scratched. Think they were closing down as I was leaving but I don't know if they were still removing some from the stand? At least its for a good cause.
