Top Gear
Just caught up with last night's top gear and I thought it was quite entertaining. A big step up from Chris Evans and Joey.
Enjoyable light entertainment with good chemistry between the presenters I thought.

Re: Top Gear
To be fair, I thought it was a very good 1st effort - certainly there seems to be the start of some
good chemistry between them. Just wish that they would stop shouting to each other and just talk normally.
They also tried a bit too hard with the funnies, they need to let them flow a bit more.
All in all though, quite enjoyable.

He was - he’s no presenter but the prerecorded elements were OK if a little forced, though they often were in the later days with Clarkson et al.Chester Perry wrote:Freddie was very wooden on the link pieces

I'm sorry, it's like calling a band " The Who ", and not having anybody from " The Who " in it ....

Correct. It's not TG any more, it's just a rather boring car programme.Clarets4me wrote:I'm sorry, it's like calling a band " The Who ", and not having anybody from " The Who " in it ....

Angela Rippon & Co.
Not the dreadful Clarkson, May, Hammond (Sell out years)
Re: Top Gear
Didn’t plan to watch it but saw the repeat last night.
It wasn’t as bad as I expected and I like Freddie.
It was all very planned / staged and i’m not sure why they still persist with this Clarkson themed Oliver Hardy “look at this fine mess” nonsense - it wasn’t that funny 15 years ago and it looks ridiculously expensive.
Here’s a crazy idea BBC producers - make some of the show about cars....even try a few serious features on things like electric cars....and try and cut down making 3 middle aged men f-ucking about on location for months at a time at the other end of the world.
A feature on the escort mark one, RS2000, Mexico etc filmed in this country and showing how iconic they have become and how much they are now being sold for etc would be interesting to a lot of car enthusiasts and about £5m cheaper to produce / film.

Re: Top Gear
Alas my old yellow Mexico ,known by others not unreasonably as “ Rustico”went to the scrappers around about the time Angela Ripon left TG( to go to the scrappers herself ) just watched the last Grand Tour series and a good handful of episodes are horrendous , either puff pieces for new cars or Clarkson making sexual innuendos which are stomach churning .TVC15 wrote:Didn’t plan to watch it but saw the repeat last night.

Re: Top Gear
Many more people would switch off if they witnessed 3 middle aged men talking about the boot space in a Nissan Note, rather than racing around a dirt track in 3 cars unfit for purpose . Personally I enjoyed it , I didn’t expect to however I think these three may be on to something, just need to stop trying so hard to be funny. Like him or loathe him McGuiness was pretty good and his excitement was there for all to see. Freddie isn’t a natural presenter and this will come to him with time.
Good effort

Re: Top Gear
They might as well just go the whole hog and get Keith Lemon on board . Paddy ,Freddy et al do have a reasonable harmless blokey fun about them and it was better than the post “CMH” years, and possibly the later bloated CHM yrs as well

Likewise. However, awful doesn’t really sum up just how much worse than utter cr4p it was. Lots of shouting and screaming and absolutely no chemistry between them at all. For one, I won’t be watching any more of that drivel.FactualFrank wrote:I thought it was unsurprisingly awful.

Re: Top Gear
I watched an episode of Top Gear ages ago. Clarkson and his two sidekicks went on a road trip and hilarity ensued. At the end they "accidentally" burned out a perfectly good caravan. It might just be me, but being so obviously staged made it feel a little pointless, kind of like how WWF was never the same after I cottoned on it was fake at 9 years old.

Re: Top Gear
The specials such as the Polar trip, the Vietnam one and U.S were entertaining but got quite dreary towards the end.
The new lineup at the weekend seemed a little forced but killed an hour on Sunday evening. Hopefully improves over time.
