England v Afghanistan Cricket

Post by tybfc » Tue Jun 18, 2019 10:18 am

England have won the toss and chosen to bat at the Northern home of cricket which is The Emirates Old Trafford.

The weather is set fair and the wicket looks good.

Roy is injured and been replaced by Vince and Plunkett has been dropped and in comes Rashid.

you can get 66's now.
If you keep going you may also be able to get 100, 150 and possibly even 200 before they close the book :D

Morgan just got his ton of 57 balls. England 300 up after 44 overs.

He is about to go for 100, hopefully the crowd give him a standing ovation for this achievement.

That was awesome batting from Morgan to add to Root in particular. Nice cameo at the end from Moeen.

Typical England middle order collapse, 4 wickets in 21 balls ..... luckily they also hit a World record ( In all 1 day cricket ) 25 Six's in accumulating 397/6 off 50 overs, so they should scrape home ..... hopefully !

World class fielding from the Afghanis, miraculous bowling from Khan, only went for 110 runs from his 9 overs, really gave his side a sniff here.

What's the record margin in a WC game, could be happening today,England have rediscovered their best form, blistering knock from the skip,Root and Bairstow weren't bad,and then a brief onslaught from Moeen, the only disappointment is failing to pass 400,and James Vince must be kicking himself an ideal chance to amass a big score and once again he gets a start and gets out.

Rumours that Alex Hales might be recalled to the squad,i don't think that's a good idea, hes a terrific player, but his appearance could cause ructions in the dressing room.

They'll need half of the highlights programme just to show Morgan's 6's

Meh, I thought a few quick wickets could give me a decent watch, I turned it off pretty quickly after placing the bet.

Good batting, but one day cricket with them white kookaburra balls is as easy as it gets.

No swing, seam or spin. It's only scoreboard pressure that can get you out.

Excellent display from England with bat and ball, credit to the Afghan's for batting through their 50 overs, and amassing their highest every one-day total.

Archer and Wood where brutal again, quick and straight and hitting the batsman on the helmet more than once, keep it up boys, especially at Lord's against the cheating convicts.

The only concern for England is fitness worries,Jason Roy was badly missed,James Vince is so frustrating he often gets a start and then finds a way to get out.

Root also was struggling with his back during both batting and in the field,i wonder if we'll see changes against Sri Lanka,Tom Curran,Chris Woakes and Liam Dawson haven't featured much if at all in this tournament.
