Presumably, the loan fee, like transfer fees involving Burnley will be undisclosed. This latest loan does beg the question as to whether he will ever make the step up to the Clarets first team squad although presumably, if it was a definite no -no then he would not be kept on Burnley's books.

If the reports in Australia are correct, added to the contract offer, then we are clearly keen to keep him otherwise we could have just released him. I would assume the loan fee will probably cover his wages.Suratclaret wrote:Presumably, the loan fee, like transfer fees involving Burnley will be undisclosed. Thought I read that if he was to sign for an Australian club when he was out of contract we wouldn’t receive a fee and him signing a contract would allow us to get something for his developmentClaretTony wrote:If the reports in Australia are correct, added to the contract offer, then we are clearly keen to keep him otherwise we could have just released him. Related question for the football account analysts on here. Does the income from loans get added to turnover, and could there be a benefit from this?

If he turned down his contract we would be entitled to a minimal figure under FIFA regs but if he signed it then any permanent move would be subject to an agreed transfer fee.wilks_bfc wrote:Thought I read that if he was to sign for an Australian club when he was out of contract we wouldn’t receive a fee and him signing a contract would allow us to get something for his development

Some clubs, Chelsea being the best example, make a lot of money from loan fees and it's part of their business model.

They even have a 'loan manager' now!aggi wrote:Yep.

Most clubs do now - I think it is part of Nicky Law's duties at BurnleyFretters wrote:They even have a 'loan manager' now!
