Thursday quick quiz question....

Post by Selby Claret » Thu Jun 20, 2019 11:21 am

Ashley Barnes is Burnley's all time top PL goal scorer (32).

Of the 48 other teams to have played in the PL, which two boast an all time top PL scorer that has also played for Burnley?

Stoke has to be one surely?
And maybe Wolves with Fletcher?

Wouldn't think Nugent but Walters, Crouch and Fletcher are decent shouts although it can't be both Crouch & Walters at Stoke.

Robbie Blake at Bradford? Ian Wright? Andy Cole? Peter Crouch? can't think of too many that stand out.

I wonder if there is anyone from the 90s short term Premiership teams like Swindon, Sheff Utd, Oldham, Barnsley, etc.

I quickly ruled out Wright - Arsenal did have Thierry Henry

Cole is a possible but definitely not Robbie at Bradford, they loaned him out for part of the second season.

not a very clear question as from a quick google...

Andrew Cole is 3rd in the all time list and has played for Man Utd; Rovers; Newcastle; Man City; Sunderland; Fulham; and Portsmouth (I think thats it!) in the Premier League.

Ian Wright is on the list too and he played for Arsenal and West Ham in the Premier League.

Peter Crouch has a long list too Spurs; Portsmouth; Liverpool; Stoke and Villa in the Premier League.

Steven Fletcher played for Wolves & Sunderland in the Premier League.

Down to Jon Walters who played for Stoke and Bolton in the Premier League.

there's more too...

The question is about being the leading goalscorer for a specific club, so for instance it won't be Ian Wright at Arsenal given they had Thierry Henry.

On the subject of Stoke - don't know if Crouch is the answer but he scored three more Premier League goals for them than Walters.

You would have thought a club like everton would have a higher top scorer.
