Don’t make out I made that statement Macca I'm going to get lynched.
As a former Ribb league player it was often referred to as the pie and pea league by Lancs league players or fans.
The Lancs league will have got a lot stronger recently and is attracting the better players from the Ribb League at the moment.

Dark Cloud wrote:It's very harsh and very cheeky of him (or anyone) to call it "pie and pea league" because tbh Rib League Senior division is an extremely good standard with good pros. The clubs mostly have excellent facilities and great junior set ups. The vast majority of Rib Senior League clubs would cut it in the Lancs I'd say, but for some it might take a bit of adjustment as in Great Harwood for example haven't found the step up that easy.
I didnt mean he said it was, I said he knew the scene up there, ( padiham ) "but its known as the pie and pea leage" ( not by him, I dont know his thoughts )

. thinks the only person he has seen on this message board call that division the pie and pea league is MACCA himself.
Thursday 06th June:
“Are you saying not many house fans know much about cricket? And only go down for the band and quid a can bar? Ha Ha Ha , this isn't Padiham in the pie and pea league. I meant lots of women and kids go on for the whole day and all what they offer. The nearest thing we've got round here regards ...”
