Boris or Hunt you have to pick one

Post by HunterST_BFC » Sat Jun 22, 2019 10:36 pm

Boris or Hunt you have to pick one

To me both objectionable.
Hypothetically you have to place one vote.

Whatever your politics you have to pick one...

... maybe also say why?

Quite interested in your views as non of us (most likely) have the option to vote for either.

Boris, he's an incompetent fool and he'll take the Conservative party down with him.

Boris as he's a bit of a fool.

When you actually think of what Hunt has done for the nation.

Ruined schools and the NHS hasn't he?

the fact that it has come to a choice between these two is a terrifying reality.

we shat on our breakfast by leaving the e.u. and now we look like we shall have a mediocre performance artist as our leader.

the rest of the world probably can't look.

I'm not a Tory Party member so I don't have any say.

However, if I was, per chance, a Tory Party member that I think I would
have resign from being a member rather than have to choose between those two.

The NHS was already circling the drain after years of poor government ministers not having a clue, he's just helped it along a bit more.

Right, need to speak up, 'cos I think it's getting a bit out of hand. I can't think of any other poster on here who has been the subject of so many murder fantasies as ImplodingTurtle; and even at their most flippant, that's what these comments are: murder fantasies. It isn't limited to the above comment (#13). Granted he can be abrasive and direct - probably by his own admission - but for Christ sake, take a step back and have a look at yourselves. You're fantasising about the bloke being killed. It's sick, really, that an arguments, no matter how forceful, would be met with responses that allude to violence. From my recollection the bloke has never once, unironically, purposed violent ends or rhetoric towards anyone on this board. Could we perhaps all just calm the f.uck down with the rhetoric?

I fear I may accidentally vote for Hunt by writing my thoughts on the candidates in big letters across the ballot paper and the tellers mistaking it for his surname.

I think that generally Hunt is seen as a more socially aware sort of chap. As much as a Tory can be seen as caring about normal folk, which isn't much. So if I had to pick it would be him. And besides, Boris made himself look such an incompetent idiot when at the Foreign Office he shouldn't be anywhere near a cabinet position let alone Prime Minister, ever.

I don't know you personally, your real name etc, so for all intents and purposes you're anonymous. If I were to say "ha ha, wouldn't it be funny if taio lost his entire family in a house fire," claiming it as a joke makes the post an acceptable one? Folk seem to be held to differing standards on this board.

I'd go for Hunt.

It's all very well saying these are appalling choices but there weren't many better ones - Gove perhaps. Other parties don't seem to have much to offer either.

Boris seems to have a had a bit of presentational makeover lately (as has Corbyn).

Boris used to have funny hair. The sort of hair that only a toff can have. Plebs in their 50s look stupid with funny hair, but not Boris. I cried when he had his funny hair cut off. In fact, I'm still rather upset about it.

I'd go for Hunt purely because he at least some to have a grasp of the detail regarding brexit,Boris is far too scatter-gun to engage in constructive dialogue with the EU 27,in addition Hunt has been a reasonable success in his various cabinet roles,Boris was a disaster at the FO,and made the UK a laughing stock, and that's before the Nandzin Zaghari-Ratcliffe cock-up is mentioned.

Boris.

I want out of the EU, and Boris will be the best option I think.

The government does the work, not the PM.

For example... the boss of a bus company doesn't need a PSV licence, he just needs to employ people who have.

Having said all that, I get all the "how do I choose between a turd and a lump of ****" posts, really I do, but the choice of candidates has been very poor from the start.

British politics seems to be a bit of a mess at the moment.... a labour leadership election presents the same problems.

Based on the fact that Hunt knowingly screwed over the NHS and did it so well that the public haven’t actually realised yet that it is already privatised (at least most of the devices used by the NHS are) shows he has some brains and isn’t a complete tosspot aka BoJo means that Hunt is the least worst choice.

But this cuntry deserves BoJo, and that’s what I think we’ll get

I'd also be worried if I was a Tory MP in a NW of England marginal. BJ might be popular with the party membership, but the Tory voters in my social circle think he's a massive bell.

There really are only 2 wider options for Tories

Hunt would guarantee the wilderness years for the Tories and the horror that JC might get in a GE. Boris while not everyone’s cup of tea might make a huge horses arse of it though likewise he just might transform the Tories and destroy Corbyn in a GE in a huge wave of Borismania

Though “ Stop Boris “really is in full swing and I’m
quite shocked to see the BBC ( certainly on radio) literally stoking the fires .

Though for one moment can people imagine having a similar choice between Corbyn and Dianne Abbot?

You are shocked that the BBC have an agenda? :?

The BBC have, for quite a while, been stoking fires, although never quite as brazen as they have recently become.
