thinking of getting one of these. Was wondering whether to get a lift off lid type or hinged lid. If anyone has an opinion about either that would be appreciated. Any other tips regarding these welcomed including makes etc. Thanks in advance.

Aren't they a bit bright for a kitchen?

We have this one...

And we only use it for cooking roast chicken with all the spuds in the bottom - it cooks it really well and quite quick too, cleans up quickly if you don’t leave it to stand. That said, it’s quite large to store somewhere if you don’t leave it out all the time.

My mum got one and cooked a full chicken to perfection in it. They cook very evenly compared to gas ovens that has the top far hotter than the bottom.

But unless you have somewhere to put it then it goes under the stairs or in the cellar after a couple of uses.

Sounds like one has to eat a lot of chicken!
