Re: ARTICLE: Ward completes Stoke deal
Thanks Tony. He was a wonderful acquisition. Struggled to get a game for a while but once in never lost his place. My friend was a Wolves fan who told me he was an outcast there-training in a small squad away from the first team. His experience shone through with us. Very composed and polished. He stuck me as a team player and his goal v Chelsea was a memorable one. I wish him and his family our best wishes and hopes he has a great time at Stoke with Vokesy

No "I'd like to thank Burnley for X seasons".... they usually put that one out there

Top, top player!
Greatest memories away from his solid performances at the back....
The goals he scored at Chelsea and Huddersfield.
Wardism: being the world’s biggest pain to opposition goalkeepers at corners.
Strangest memory: his very decent performance in central midfield away at Leicester.

It wasn't about Dyche, more an observation about Ward's statement. Most outgoing players leave with a complimentary comment.fatboy47 wrote:Yes....Dyche must have lost the dressing room...its obvious.

Re: ARTICLE: Ward completes Stoke deal
Wards statement when it was confirmed he was to leave at the end of the season was VERY complimentary about us. Not sure he should be talking about his former Club when starting at his new one though so I would guess it is the right thing to do.

A great player for Burnley. he prospered more away from Wolves than they did until they broke every Fair Play rule in the world

I think most outgoing players leave with a compliment, Vokes being most complimentary.JarrowClaret wrote:Wards statement when it was confirmed he was to leave at the end of the season was VERY complimentary about us. The recent quote from Ward was very brief. I was somewhat surprised, that's all.

Re: ARTICLE: Ward completes Stoke deal
Excellent news, really happy to see Wardy secure a new club. He was outstanding for us and I would have welcomed another year on his contract.
Nice to see he found a club closer to home as well. I think I read somewhere that he was looking to move closer to the midlands. Could be wrong on that one.
