I hope people wont make any ham-fisted attempts at cheesy remarks about this fixture; it'll be gam(e)on when the whistle blows.

Would have been an exciting friendly about 20 years ago.

From the Parma FC website -

Collecchio, 27 June 2019 – Our summer friendly schedule is starting to take shape as part of our preparations for the 2019-20 Serie A season. Parma will visit Turf Moor to face Burnley FC for a friendly on 3 August 2019 with kick-off at 15:00 local time. More information on tickets will be published in the coming days.

Founded in 1882, Burnley Football Club currently compete in the Premier League. Last season under Sean Dyche, the Clarets finished 15th with 40 points. Burnley can boast of two league titles (1921 and 1960), as many Charity Shields and they won the FA Cup in 1914. Along with Preston North End and Wolverhampton Wanderers, they are one of only three clubs to have won all four of the leagues in the Football League system. The club plays at the 21,944 seater Turf Moor in Burnley, Lancashire.

A bit out of date that.

Perhaps we should make the claim that we were the first team to win the leagues in the sequence 1st Division, followed by 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Burnley: 1, 2, 3, 4
PNE: 1, 2, 3, 4
Wolves: 2, 1, 4, 3
Portsmouth: 1, 3, 2, 4
Sheff Utd: 1, 2, 4, 3

Yep, I'm that bored.

I thought winning the championship under Dyche, 2nd tier was our crowning trophy for all leagues?

That’s incorrect, we won the second tier for the first time in 1897-98

Had a Parma shirt once. They were my fave Italian team from the ‘golazzo’ era when channel 4 first broadcast live Italian football.

Had a great team around the turn of the millennium with the likes of Buffon, Thuram, Cannavaro, Veron and Crespo. Nice shirt as well, the yellow and blue one? Series A really was class back then.

Pity we could not attract Huntley, from the Highland League.

We could play Huntley and Palma on the same day!
That would take the biscuit!

For nostalgic purposes a great friendly. Not too disappointed with this although doubt they’ll bring many fans.

I know its game practice but normally these pre season gsmes are a huge let down whoever' we play its a glorified training session and we actually pay to watch it...

One of my favourite European club teams, largely thanks to Championship Manager 03/04!
