Re: New Kit Release Date
Guy we bald head in club shop told me 1st July it'd be on sale, I asked if he meant mid July knowing what it's like every year an he said this new brand is on the ball definitely 1st July but will be shown a few weeks before.
Was in again a last week an asked another lad who said he had no idea an that it's usually shown 2 weeks before the release date

Home kit on sale from next weekend. Still under contract to Puma, I’ve been told, until end of June, so can’t reveal the Umbro kit until then.

Of course it does. How am I expected to enjoy myself on holiday without wearing the same shirt everyday for 2 weeks? How will I cope without people asking about it and saying “You’re a Burnley fan?” I want everybody to look at me and think “Oh a Burnley fan, how cool you are”evensteadiereddie wrote:Whinge, whinge, whinge. I never understand why people want to wear football shirts on holidays. They usually look like wallys - especially when you see the whole family kitted out.Dyched wrote:Of course it does. Can you really not understand why they wear their team's shirt on holiday? BFC is a major part of their life. They are proud to support BFC, and they want to show that fact off when they are away from home. So what. Better than wearing Superdry!Rileybobs wrote:I never understand why people want to wear football shirts on holidays. Fair enough if you’re 8 years old. But grown men should just be shot instantly.Rileybobs wrote:I never understand why people want to wear football shirts on holidays. They usually look like wallys - especially when you see the whole family kitted out.

Don't own a football shirt but find it difficult to understand how anyone could spend time thinking this through and have such a strong view.Rileybobs wrote:I never understand why people want to wear football shirts on holidays. Re: New Kit Release Date
The only thing I want to know, and what the club don’t seem to be able to answer, is will they be doing child lettering?
It may seem trivial, but for the past 3 seasons I have had to go elsewhere with my nephews shirt to get his name printed on the back.
Names longer than 6 characters in adult lettering don’t fit on a 4 year olds shirt

Re: New Kit Release Date
My last holiday abroad was in May 2009 after the wife (now ex) booked a family holiday whilst Burnley were at Wembley... of course I wore my shirt in the hotel bar with my then 9 year old son wearing his too - surrounded by Rovers fans (also wearing their shirts strangely enough!) - that was a good day to wear my colours... dont you think...?Rileybobs wrote:I never understand why people want to wear football shirts on holidays. Re: New Kit Release Date
I can’t wait for the home kit to finally go on sale so we can look forward to the myriad of threads and whinge’s about the release date and alleged design of the away kit.
All my 8 year old son is interested in are the goalkeeper kits anyway and I can’t even remember when they were released last year - he won’t be wearing a long sleeved shirt on his holidays though!

Re: New Kit Release Date
Someone on holiday once asked me " Who's shirt is that?"
"Mine" I replied.

Re: New Kit Release Date
I live in Bangkok so I regularly get West Ham and Villa.
Even had a English bloke shout “up the Villa” at me in a train station once.
Only person who has ever got it straight away was Thai bloke who approached me in the street on Phi Phi island. I think we had just beat West Ham the day before.

Re: New Kit Release Date
Long sleeved shirts/t-shirts on a young un, on holiday, are probably a better idea than the alternative.

Re: New Kit Release Date
I'm not into buying shirts but I know a lot of people that are and often want them for their holidays which makes me wonder why you would sign a contract with any manufacturer that runs until the end of June, surely any marketing person would be thinking the end of May at the latest in order to get the new stock out there.

I thought you’d blocked me so you couldn’t read any of my posts Frank? Seems odd that this is the second time since you told me that you’ve either replied to a post of mine or referenced one.FactualFrank wrote:Can somebody please buy Rieybobs his first Burnley top, for Christmas.
Seems like I’ve hit a few nerves with my harmless comments about families wearing matching football kits on their hols.

Talking of away kits, Preston fans were supposedly not happy with the club’s original choice of red. Either that or it’s spin on supply issues.....
