Forest forced into action due to alleged mutiny from the squad over O’Neill’s methods etc. Club felt they had to act in pre-season before matters got even worse

Another madhouse. Foreign owners, too much money, too little sense.

His style is from yesteryear to be honest. Can’t see him getting another job.Reecey1987 wrote:Forest forced into action due to alleged mutiny from the squad over O’Neill’s methods etc. Club felt they had to act in pre-season before matters got even worse

Re: Forest sack O'Neill
Kick It Out have released a statement saying that the sacking of O'Neill was purely down to a poor set of result and end to the season. They would like to take this opportunity to state this sacking was nothing to do with his colour.

keane is a madman anyway, great player but complete idiot to have in a key position at a club, and O'neil is a dud.

That’s a staggering number and they’ve had three different owners in that time.Reecey1987 wrote:Nottingham Forest have had 13 different permanent managers since 2009:

Re: Forest sack O'Neill
Interesting. How many years do we have to go back for 13 managers at the turf.
That would take us to Martin Buchan in 1985....shudder...
Our club is so well run. We are very lucky....

Re: Forest sack O'Neill
Billy Davies was the most successful of those, although Martin O'Neill's record is comparable, with Mark Warburton not far behind.Reecey1987 wrote:Nottingham Forest have had 13 different permanent managers since 2009:

Never heard of this Lamouchi bloke - what's his background? All seems very strange at Notts Forrest.

Perhaps he’s related to Labi Siffre and they’ve finally found the one that they want.....

Re: Forest sack O'Neill
Bloody hell, and Buchan was appointed 34 years ago. From Jan 83 Until July 86 we went from Brian Miller to Brian Miller with Frank Casper, John Bond, John Benson, Martin Buchan and Tommy Cavanagh between his two spells. Works well doesn’t it, keep changing manager?Hibsclaret wrote:Interesting. How many years do we have to go back for 13 managers at the turf.

Re: Forest sack O'Neill
MM gave them best season for yrs still a v good manager imo . No surprise they’ve changed him for some “ martini mcneliinhio “ exotic named coach . Though Keane must be the most toxic individual to have ever graced the game , horrible individual

Mind you it was only worth keeping one of that lot and he was the 1st to be sacked....ClaretTony wrote:Bloody hell, and Buchan was appointed 34 years ago. Does anyone know why Martin Buchan resigned? I remember his appointment being national news but I know nothing about the circumstances surrounding his departure.

I believe he liked a drink. Also heard a story that he liked to put himself about a bit with some of the players. Then he tried it with Big Vince.....Sausage wrote:Does anyone know why Martin Buchan resigned? Wasn’t Vince, it was Kevin Hird.Herts Clarets wrote:I believe he liked a drink. Also heard a story that he liked to put himself about a bit with some of the players. Then he tried it with Big Vince.....
He certainly liked a drink but, of course, that suited the chairman at the time.
But he couldn’t cope with managing and also had an illness bout at the time. No one at Chester that day was sorry to see him go a few days later.

Any ideas how many Derby have had in that time? They go through plenty themselves - must be something in the water down that way!!Reecey1987 wrote:Nottingham Forest have had 13 different permanent managers since 2009:

Re: Forest sack O'Neill
I think he's a good fit as a 'firefighting' manager if a team needs to grind some results out, but for a team with the lofty ambitions of Forest, it never really seemed like the right fit. Throw in the people skills of Roy Keane and you can see why everyone's had enough, tbh.
