I still can't decide whether this design is hideous or brilliant.

That was from 92-93 and the one the players wore did have a white collar. I remember a number of fans wearing one with the yellow collar though during pre season. Not sure why there were two versions.Athletico mtoto wrote:Got the yellow away shirt from a similar time

Re: What year is this shirt from?
The blue is the third shirt from 89-91
White was the away
I waited for months after my birthday for the white but they never came into stock for a 12 yr old so my grandma placated me with the blue one - still got it - but 42 yr old me doesn’t fit in it

The ones with the yellow collar were fake. The bloke on Skipton market told my mum when she bought it from him for a tenner.burnmark wrote:That was from 92-93 and the one the players wore did have a white collar. It's Brilliant!, I wore mine at York in '92, but brought it the season before.evensteadiereddie wrote:I still can't decide whether this design is hideous or brilliant.
Fond memories of away days in that old shirt.
Still got it but it's a bit of a tighter fit now.

It will feel tight, they shrink. Well at least that’s what I tell myself about mine.gawthorpe_view wrote:It's Brilliant!, I wore mine at York in '92, but brought it the season before.

Re: What year is this shirt from?
The shirt you’re talking about they brought out a paler blue then a more striking one........basically the manufacturer ran out apparently! Anyway mine is in the pic near the front.......and my good old yellow one from the milk cup semi final which went to the world cup in Spain is also there......but no chance it fits now!

My first ever burnley shirt was that blue one. Remember wearing it with pride at primary school just after Christmas. 9yrs old and one of only two clarets at school but I didn’t care I thought I was a cross between Steve Davis mk1 and Ron Futcher......

Me too...the pace of Rocket Ron and the dribbling ability of Steve Davis mk1.KlyBfc wrote:I thought I was a cross between Steve Davis mk1 and Ron Futcher......

I still have the home shirt. Similarly, as a 42 yr old, mine doesn’t fit me either.Selby Claret wrote: The blue is the third shirt from 89-91

Re: What year is this shirt from?
Yeah, that’s brought the pain back! I remember wanting the white also and getting the blue as compensation. My mate got the white one which really p****d off a 12 year old Notts as I’d got him into going to the Turf.Selby Claret wrote: The blue is the third shirt from 89-91

Re: What year is this shirt from?
The bird sh1t shirt (think the manufacturer was Ribero) was possibly the worst quality garment
I ever shelled out for.
I think that was 1992. The following one, the Mitre, was, I thought, one of the best.

Re: What year is this shirt from?
Great pictures of the shirts of yesteryear! Living in Cornwall I always made sure the boys had shirts for Xmas. They were mostly away ones that they could wear when we saw the team play at the delights of Torquay, Exeter, Plymouth etc. They were mascots at Exeter and Plymouth and loved going on the pitch with the players. I always bought the home shirt for my trips to the turf. Fortunately they still fit me and I wear them when I go to walking football as do others who are the likes of Millwall, Southampton and Villa along with the obligatory United and Liverpool fans. Great fun but not always a good look!

Re: What year is this shirt from?
Ebays a god send for stuff like this. Had the claret one at same time as the blue one. Absolutely loved it. Wish i knew where they all were and usually good for keeping that sort of thing.
One on ebay at the minute that i keep cheeky bidding for but he wont move from 100 quid. Love that shirt but cant convince myself 100 is worth it. Even though ive tonnes of shirts. And thats my favourite.
Definitely best shade of claret weve had.
On plus side i did also get the 2009 one for an absolute bargain. Although thats another i had and lost.

Re: What year is this shirt from?
That must be a record the length of a deal with Endsleigh 9 seasons sponsors with the last season shared P3 computers to make 10 seasons
Re: What year is this shirt from?
Spotted this t shirt on Twitter last week which I’m tempted to buy. Quite a history of our Endsleigh kits.

All I can think of when I see the Lanway sponsored shirt is Ian Moore and cant think why or which game from or even if he was playing then does anyone else have a similar memory when they see a certain shirt that they can’t understand!
