Palace want £80m for Wilf
Wilf wants to sign for Arsenal who are willing to sell Aubameyang.I find it bizarre as Aubameyang looked a class act when they played us last season .
Palace without Wilf will struggle. His assists and penalty winning ability have kept them up.

Re: Palace want £80m for Wilf
Price wise, I think it's fair enough. Aubameyang is indeed a good player, but maybe the Gunners see
something different in Zaha that will complement and improve their current line up.
Agree that Palace would be severely weakened without him though.

Surprised if Arsenal want rid but maybe it’ll turn out about like us when we sold Austin, the overall team would improve.
He does go missing in some of the big games.
It would be good news for us if Zaha left Palace.

Why are these two deals being linked?
Arsenal are willing to sell Aubameyang isn’t Arsenal want to sell.....

Suspect that Palace are also bumping up the price because Man Utd have a 25% sell on clause

If it happens that's £150m from two player sales.

Will they buy him back again for a knock-down price in a year?

I didn’t realise Aubameyang was 30.

Re: Palace want £80m for Wilf
I read something recently that Aubameyang, who has scored twice in each of the three games he’s played against us, doesn’t show against the big teams. He’s only scored in three games against the other top six teams in a season and a half at Arsenal.
I was initially surprised though that they would part with him given his goal scoring record for them.

Just read that Palace tried to get the 25% sell on to United removed as part of the Wan-Bissaka deal but United refused. They also refused to include a 10% sell on for Wan-Bissaka but Palace said deal was off without it.

Yes it was apparently United’s insistence on keeping the sell on clause in place in Zaha’s contract that stalled the Wan-Bissaka deal. Further proof, if indeed it were needed, that modern day football is a business.ClaretTony wrote:Just read that Palace tried to get the 25% sell on to United removed as part of the Wan-Bissaka deal but United refused. He’d be the 8th most expensive transfer in the history of football at that price.
He’s 27 in November.
Last year, goals and assists, he was involved in 15 goals. Ashley Barnes was involved in 14.
That fee is mental. I get that he’s priceless for Palace, but he’s worth probably half that if you’re buying him from any other club.

Well I'd certainly love him in our team, the problem would be that he's so quick when he gets to the goal line in order to cross the ball our forwards have only just left the the centre circle.theroyaldyche wrote:Zahas shite

Re: Palace want £80m for Wilf
Aubamyang’s record against top teams is embarrassing really for the kind of money Arsenal invested in him. Stat padding against Burnley on the last day of the season doesn’t make him worth it.
Re: Palace want £80m for Wilf
It might be good news for Burnley if Wan-Bissaka, on the strength of one good season, is being sold for £50m. How much does that make Tarky worth who has now had two solid seasons behind him? Furthermore, with McNeil, his value has to go through the roof if he starts next season well. All this should mean that neither can be sold, or, if they are, we get in some massive fees.

Re: Palace want £80m for Wilf
In today's market £80m is fairly cheap especially if he can make a such a difference and keep a team up.
That doesn't make the market right though

It’s a mental fee and i’ll be amazed if they pay it.
Silly money is being paid for average players - Matt Targett today being a prime example - and whilst sky high figures are being banded about on Sky constantly they’re not actually being paid for players.

Re: Palace want £80m for Wilf
Arsenal have a new transfer system whereas they are looking at offloading any player when they have 2 years left on their contract. This is because of the Ramsey situation with him running down the last year of his contract. They have offered Aubemayang a 5/6 year deal which he is refusing to sign. This is why they are willing to listen to offers for not just him but Lacazette as well

If they sold Wilf along with that full back in the same summer then it's going to be worth seeing who they've got to replace them.
There's real potential for them to struggle with out Zaha.

Zaha is unplayable on his day, however he does seem to lack consistency.

Zaha is a top 6 side. Unquestionably. Possibly peaked a bit late, but easily good enough for the best sides.

Peaked a bit late?? He was great as a youngster and got a transfer to Man Utd! Yes it didn't work out there but that aside he has been quality for a long time.FactualFrank wrote:Zaha is a top 6 side. Unquestionably. Possibly peaked a bit late, but easily good enough for the best sides.
