Dwight McNeil - Juventus

Re: Dwight McNeil - Juventus
This thread has got very weird
It’s hard to think of 2 players less similar than McNeil and Sissoko.....
....it’s up there with comparing Ronnie Jepson and Lionel Messi - as any Burnley fan would know that you would choose Jeppo every time to close out a game.

Not really, I'm at work, so this can carry on without my input.Devils_Advocate wrote:We've got 2 of the heavyweight bickerers in Taio and Sid going at each other so plenty of legs left in this tedious exchange yet

Can’t be that rare, we’ve got three of them!jrgbfc wrote:I wouldn't sell for 30 million. The lad looks the real deal and is a genuine, left sided midfielder, which seems rare at the top level these days.

Maybe that's why they're rare.

I was meaning genuine top class. Apart from Ryan Giggs I can't think of any other British one's in the last 20 years or so, probably back to John Barnes.Bigvince wrote:Can’t be that rare, we’ve got three of them!

And some say Dwight McNeil will struggle because he can't use his right foot!jrgbfc wrote:I was meaning genuine top class. Apart from Ryan Giggs I can't think of any other British one's in the last 20 years or so, probably back to John Barnes.
Giggs rarely did and it didn't really affect his career.

How many new midfielders to Juventus need?

Tbf there seems to less out and out quality left wingers across all the big football nations...especially with the way many teams now set up with overlapping full backs etc...it’s much easier to list the world class left backs in the last 20 years than left wingers.
I love watching a good left winger though - they just seem to have better balance and more natural technique. It’s one of the best things about watching Dwight McNeil play - when he’s in full flow it’s great to see.
Re: Dwight McNeil - Juventus
Very true. Very elegant are left wingers/footers. Right wingers look like they’re running down a 3 mile wide tight rope with doc martins, whereas left wingers a 3mm wide tight rope with ballerina shoes.TVC15 wrote:Chris Waddle

Pires was a joy to watch. Both footed If I remember correctly.
Re: Dwight McNeil - Juventus
If a gash Southampton left back is £17m with add ons, whatever must Dwight be worth, when he skins England full backs for fun?

Although Peter Barnes furrowed his left wing brow over 20 years ago, his playing career on wiki is worth a read. Redefines the term 'journeyman'

Just before they signed Clarke and loaning him back to Leeds. I wonder if they suggested the same thing for us but we turned them down.WestMidsClaret wrote:Spurs enquired about DM apparently.

PL rules stop clubs signing players then loaning them to another PL club within the same window.FactualFrank wrote:Just before they signed Clarke and loaning him back to Leeds. I wonder if they suggested the same thing for us but we turned them down.
