Not to take anything away from England's performance, but it was a strange end to the game.
Wickets in hand, run rate climbing but not impossible, and they are happy to take singles, and not keep dhoni on strike. Pakistan's qualification is out of their hands now. India and England qualification is in their own hands.

Re: England v India
Mark Richardson was on TV in New Zealand last week claiming that the Black Caps had done this in the past. In a tri-series with Australia and South Africa, they rolled over to the Saffas in their final game so Australia didn't get to the final.tiger76 wrote:Knowing the Kiwi's mentality they absolutely will not, this behaviour could yet come back to bite the India's behinds,if England make the SF' and then the Final, and ultimately lift the trophy beating India along the way, they will rue this day.
Then the saffas smashed them 3-0 in the final series.

Re: England v India
Definitely one for the conspiracy theorists, especially amongst some Indian fans who are reluctant to accept that they were generally outplayed (not by a whole lot it's true) and go down the "went easy to try and keep Pakistan out" route. (Kohli's (post match interview) words re the short boundary on one side was another bit of inappropriate excuse making too).Wickets in hand, run rate climbing but not impossible, and they are happy to take singles, and not keep dhoni on strike. Pakistan's qualification is out of their hands now. India and England qualification is in their own hands.
England played well today against a good side, hopefully keep up that standard in Co Durham on Wednesday and clinch that semi-final spot.
